Saw a story on it earlier. Terrible scene. Something like 20,000 people evacuated. Crazy. And what drives me nuts, which I always see in comment sections in stories about wildfires, is "It's ok. Fire is good for the forest." That tells me immediately that those people don't live around wildfires or understand the impact. Outside of the loss of property, mudslides and everything else that comes with them, including death, there's zero guarantee these days that forests regenerate. These are long lasting events that aren't over when the fire dies out.
No kidding. Europe is making the transition to green energy rapidly, as if it were important. But nobody thinks we'll survive NATO and America, owing Nature in our time.
