The fires in Greece have an apocalyptic look

People being evacuated as houses and hotels are incinerated. This is scary .

Saw a story on it earlier. Terrible scene. Something like 20,000 people evacuated. Crazy.
And what drives me nuts, which I always see in comment sections in stories about wildfires, is "It's ok. Fire is good for the forest." That tells me immediately that those people don't live around wildfires or understand the impact. Outside of the loss of property, mudslides and everything else that comes with them, including death, there's zero guarantee these days that forests regenerate. These are long lasting events that aren't over when the fire dies out.

@Ynotisay stop moving into fire prone areas

@Patriot96 Nah. Asphalt isn't my jam. Maybe it's yours. I've been there. Couldn't pay me enough to go back to it.

Same story every year , they do not care to invest in protecting the people or the environment

@PepsiColaP But don't you think of the shareholders! /s
All the exact same things happening in different countries .. all at the same time..
I’m sure it’s just a coordinated coincidence…

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout even when it's arsonists/eco terrorists starting fires, the media is like...

Lack of acceptance of the consequences of global warming.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@sundazzled out of control. How do you know this.
Has it ever happened before?
Did anyone spontaneously burst into flame
sundazzled · 22-25, F
@Patriot96 you're just playing stupid. You understand that extreme heat and drought fuel fires and make them difficult to contain.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@sundazzled no your just not accepting the truth.
This is called WEATHER, it happens
revenant · F
Yes deliberate arson but it is to blame on " climate change".
RedBaron · M
Fires often are. This is nothing new.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@RedBaron native americans routinely burned forests to encourage new growth
Sevendays · M
That is definitely frightening.

Smoke on the water.
gol979 · 41-45, M
Is it arson?
No kidding. Europe is making the transition to green energy rapidly, as if it were important. But nobody thinks we'll survive NATO and America, owing Nature in our time.

just not sure why people still want to go on holiday to the affected areas lol. They all blame their travel representatives, yet they're all told of the dangers

Taking refuge on the beach is sensible.. So nuch for the greek island holiday..😷

Imagine how bad it could be if climate actually existed ....
Not the first time such fires ravaged Greece.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C

@Darksideinthenight2 Until it'll be your home or your business. The frequency and scale of these events is unprecedented.
