What's the highest altitude you've been at?

Excluding flight. Mine is 2474m, at the Daulo Pass in PNG, delightfully chilly in the near-equatorial zone. Until I researched, I didn't realise this exceeded my previous: Australia's highest summit, Mt Kosciousko, Mexico City and Johannesburg.

Miles? And would you do that again?
SW-User
@PatKirby I think that's Annapurna in the background, how far away I'm not sure. We trekked about 180 miles from Pokhara to Jomsom and then back to Kathmandu. No heavy pack on my back in that picture. I'd love to do it again, but I'm 73 now.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
I think The London Eye. I've never been on a plane that was flying.

PatKirby · M
@Longpatrol

How was the experience in that town? Wouldn't mind visiting in a few years. Did you like it? Was it expensive?
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@PatKirby It was about $100 a night. I had to take altitude pills as I'm asthmatic and I wasn't sure what the effects of high altitude would be.

I went during the off season so the town was pretty quiet, but the folk are genial enough.
