I don't know how one judges a best city...
I mean, maybe your best, most enjoyable time, but that might have absolutely nothing to do with the city...
I'd have to say the Beach... which is not a city, but the cities connected to the beaches.
I enjoyed my time Cincinnati, but that might of had more to do with the people and situation than the city.

@sstronaut For a tourist it would be restaurants and attractions, if their festivals are well organized. For a resident, crime statistics and affordability, shopping, and children's attractions like parks and swimming if they're a family.

One of the most fun to visit for me was DC with so many things to do.
The biggest surprise was Cleveland. I was in the downtown area & walked to a MLB game & the Rock & Roll HOF. The surprise part was how clean it was ....totally unexpected.
The worst was probably Buffalo NY other than the proximity to Niagara Falls it was drab & dreary.

I've never visited a city I like better than my home city of Manchester.

The best little city that I have ever been in, is no longer the best little city, nor even a little city anymore. 😞
Just a matter of facts here.
In the 1960s the population was 179.3 million. Today the population is 346.9 million. So every city has almost doubled in population size since then.

NYC, Rome, and Tokyo were my favorites so far.
I've never been to Barcelona or Paris or London, but might be able to study abroad in at least one of those cities next year.

@NativePortlander1970 Hmmmm...
You would think with the ones going all the way across the country, a four day trip, they would let you have a shower

@Tumbleweed You would think so, the larger rommettes do have their own showers on the more modern sleepers, but those go upwards of close to $1,000. However, the shower, the ability to stretch out to sleep, total privacy, and meals included, is worth it if You can afford it.

@NativePortlander1970 Oh absolutely!

Barcelona city is lovely .
It's the only city where the build blocks looks all the same when you travel around it

@KarenisKenziesmum I live in Wigan which is also about 40 miles away, I used to live inside the Chester post code area up to 2 years ago now and was always about around Chester city centre. Favourite place was on the river Dee watching ducks.
