Ashly · 26-30, F Best Comment
California is lovely 😍 It has beaches, deserts, mountains, Disneyland lol basically everything you could ever think of
Unfortunately the high rent, housing prices, cost of living, over population in major cities is insane 😒 I plan on moving out in a few years, but I highly recommend visiting 😊♥️
I like Santa Monica and Atascadero. And my grandparents lived on Clearlake. @Ashly
@Ashly I was in Redding for four months at the end of 2013, I was on a trim crew for a Prop215 collective.
@Hanginginthere But if you do go to Eureka, stay as far away from Murder Mountain in Humbolt county as far away as you can. cc: @Ashley
Baremine · 70-79, C
U left out none of the above.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Baremine that was the whole point of asking the question, it's a difficult choice.
jackson55 · M
Northern California. But unfortunately it’s still California.
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@jackson55
Indeed! I grew up there and there are far few wackadoodles than in SF and LA areas.
jackson55 · M
@SlaveEt True, but the state is run by crazy people. I’m a 4 th generation Californian. Hated to leave, but couldn’t put up with it any more.
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
@jackson55
3rd gen for me and yep, I escaped too.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
I pick CA because @bijouxbroussard is there.
drunk stoned
..and happy
Neman1622 · 41-45, M
Why isn't none of the above an option?
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Neman1622 that was the point of the question, it’s supposed to be a hard choice.
Neman1622 · 41-45, M
@Hanginginthere if you can stay in MA, I would!
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
New York, maybe near or in Allegany county, where there's forest.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
Howudoin · 41-45, M
I had a job offer in central Cali paying north of 150k, I turned it down after looking at the cost of living there. I'd still have been a pauper.
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@Hanginginthere there you go, a 12k savings
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Howudoin 😂 idk about savings because I’m still jobless but yeah
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@Hanginginthere well there is that, which totally sucks
I live in UK and have only ever to Europe except for a weekend in New York City, was very much like London. So I’d like somewhere not too hot and not too cold in winter. so I reckon San Francisco California.
@Gingerbreadspice I don't know what summers are like in the UK, but unless you like triple digits, I'd strongly recommend you look a little further north.
@LordShadowfire Winter on average little bit colder here in UK but similar temperature in summer. It’s only a few degrees warmer in San Francisco than London right now.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Gingerbreadspice San Francisco? they're the bottom barrel of CA..
I don’t like any of those choices. Not sure about the rest of Illinois, but Chicago is a huge no for me.
Probably California just because I prefer western weather. I think the east coast cold would kill me. 😅
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Colonelmustardseed fair enough it is a hard choice 👀
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@Colonelmustardseed in reality, it's colder in winter in Illinois than the NE. I've lived in both, the Midwest cold is brutal
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
Uh...probably New York

Iwillwait · M
California or New York
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Iwillwait even that is high, yes I’m cheap 😂 I hate spending money
Iwillwait · M
@Hanginginthere I am sorry,ARCO is at $4.00, Sam's $3.98, not too shabby.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Iwillwait gas here in MA is $2.90 but I know it won't stay that low for long
tindrummer · M
I'm on the coast near SF and love them (city and coast)
Sierra and northern Cal. outdoors are also close and terrific. 💚
Not New York. I don't know anything about Illinois but I already live in Ca.
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@Spoiledbrat then you have more living to do, don't you
@Howudoin Looks like it.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
I already live in NY.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@AthrillatheHunt even with all the shit that’s going on?
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Hanginginthere I live in Nassau county Long Island . One of Americas money counties . Whatever shit you’re talking about it ain’t happening here . lol (but I’m currently in Mexico now anyway).
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@AthrillatheHunt 😂 ohhh
I lived in Sonoma Cal, 21 years,, also liven in Eureka 3 years now Tennessee ,
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
Neither, but for now we are stuck in Illinois
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Patriot96 neither isn’t an option.
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
You misspelled Texas, Florida, Georgia
SW-User
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@SW-User I’ve never been to any part of NY
SW-User
@Hanginginthere Parts of upstate are beautiful
Lilymoon · F
California for the weather
attyhenrytuason · 61-69, M
Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
I pick none of the above
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@smileylovesgaming 🤦🏾‍♂️😒 that isn’t an option, you’re lame.
I do live in California and love it.
@Hanginginthere It definitely can be. One thing, though, because the cost of living is so high the salaries are a bit higher. But the expense is the only thing I’d change.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@bijouxbroussard aren’t you afraid of the earthquakes though?
@Jenny1234 In a lifetime of living here, I’ve experienced only one earthquake that caused damage: Loma Prieta, on Oct 17 1989. Occasionally there will be a jolt, but they’re generally light. Where my parents were born (New Orleans, Louisiana) there were frequent hurricanes, tornadoes and floods. They came just about every year, and clean up was always necessary. I’ve never experienced a hurricane or tornado in California, and where I live it doesn’t flood.
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@2ndtimeguy you have to pick one don’t be a party pooper
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
CA since most of my family is still there and I'm less likely to freeze my bottom off in winter. It's a beautiful place, we just need to beat the nut jobs into submission and refuse to let them ruin a great state.
Snuffy1957 · 61-69, M
As a rich guy or as a poor guy? If I was poor I'd look at which state had a lower cost of living and higher state benefits. If I was rich it wouldn't matter.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
Cali first. Mainly because of climate. I grew up in the Chicago area and it’s fantastic. So Illinois would be second.
pentacorn · F

Starguy · 26-30, M
NY. Not the city but more the countryside where there's peace and quiet with a better climate. CA looks too hot.
Caliiiiii babbyyyy all day errrrday ;)
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@TryingtoLava I’m curious are you black?
@Hanginginthere what are you implying? No im 3rd generation czechoslovakian born in a house fulla all types of music and my dad played lota west coast cuz i live in cali and i can type however i want thank you very much
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@TryingtoLava it’s simply a question 🤷🏾‍♂️
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
None of those
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@Jenny1234 not an option.
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
being from California I guess I choose Illinois because I don't mind the Midwest that much
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@lumberjackslam have you lived on the east coast yet? It's the far better coast!
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
@Howudoin No, I might like NYC... but not in terms of expenses
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@lumberjackslam what you would really like is North Carolina. It has the warm weather, the beaches, the mountains, and everything in between. And the beaches are better than Cali, I've been to both.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
NY in a heartbeat
@basilfawlty89 That's what I picked, too. It's more seasonal, and you don't have to live in NYC proper if you don't feel masochistic, lol.
DDonde · 31-35, M
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@DDonde so you have to have work that compensates for that
DDonde · 31-35, M
@Howudoin I'm just saying compared with the two other options, I'd rather live in NY all things being equal. I don't have plans to move there right now.
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@DDonde ah, ok, I get what you're saying. I've lived all over. I detest the Midwest, but the cost of living there is significantly lower than the coasts, especially the west coast.
I will even rank them

1. CA
2. NY
3. IL
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@BlueGreenGrey why am I not suprised to see IL at the bottom
@Hanginginthere I prefer the coasts, and while the Great Lakes could be interesting, I think the winters would be even worse than parts of NY

I mean Chicago might be interesting in summer but I don't want to be there in winter .... and the rest of IL just seems like the bland midwest ... I'd rather be in the Hudson Valley or ideally NorCal ... the west side of the coast ranges in NorCal is almost an ideal, year-round, if chilly climate to me

I mean I'd probably prefer to be in rural, bland, isolated IL than to be in the same in, say, Iowa, surrounded by MAGA people
NinaTina · 26-30, F
None of them
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M
@NinaTina that isn’t an option.
I know for a fact that I have no more tolerance for hot California summers. I survived one when I was young, but no thanks.
empanadas · 31-35, M
I lived in California and new York. California has a lot of diversity but too many yearly fires and earthquakes. New York has a flavor in culture that California can't match imo. My choice is NY

Illinois just sucks don't go there
Northern California or Southern Illinois, they're still fairly sane.
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@NativePortlander1970 southern Illinois? Have you been there? It may as well be Arkansas
@Howudoin At least it's not Chicago
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@NativePortlander1970 Chicago is a hell hole, just stay in the western burbs
