I have read the entire bible from cover to cover three times.
The 'Who begot who' sections are the best ones to read if you are having a hard time sleeping ...lol
Just thought you would like to know that Mr Bot ...lol

Simply put, the Bible is God's love letter to mankind. Our only hope, salvation, and future.
For the last 52 years and it's just as exciting and interesting as it was when I first started reading it. I'm reading through it again and I love bible study. I learn something every time I read it, to this day. No other book can touch it, as far as wisdom, knowledge, and life-changing knowledge for transformation by the Holy Spirit unto salvation. No other book is like it in any way, as it is inspired and alive by the Holy Spirit of God, given to holy men of old to write, as the Holy Spirit led them. God is its author, so there are no contradictions in it. There are things that may appear to be contradictions, but God does not make mistakes. He cannot err. Given careful Bible study and taken in context, history, whom was being addressed, etc., one will see that there are no contradictions. One could study the Bible till they leave this earth and still not learn everything that is in God's wonderful book, the Bible. I treasure it more than any book. It's always thrilling to read the details of what we can expect in the future. I'm looking forward to the rapture and I hope I live long enough to take part in it.

@LadyGrace I am also looking forward towards Rapture. I want to read it cover to cover. I like the that All chapters, verses fit each other like a beautiful puzzle so that it is revealed to make this statement true, "One who seeks will find"
@DanielsASJ Amen!!! Yes it is the only book in the universe that can give mankind hope and salvation. And yes you are right. All the chapters fit together so beautifully and harmoniously. God has always given us His best, that's for sure. The Bible is as up to date as tomorrow's newspaper. None can compare. I'm very proud of you as a Christian man, and one who lives for and loves God with all his heart, mind, and soul. It shows, brother. 🙏🤗🫂❤ See you in the rapture!
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
I try to incorporate it in my daily habit. These are The Wisest words I have ever read. It is like a puzzle fit together. The Holy Spirit helps us in understanding The Bible. It is good for politicians, doctors, Engineers, Laborers as well as scientists. Even plumbers, carpenters, firefighters and sailors can learn from it.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@Ferise1 The content is endless and with with each subsequent reading, we always learn new things. For ex - The human behavior, About human conditioning, about our history, about why some people want to rule over the others whereas others are happy being ruled, about hope, about positivity. If you studied Geography, you will see the zigsaw puzzle and Wagner theory were real inspiration from Bible. There are many other things and there is a very long list.
Thank you and Cheers for asking

@Ferise1 And above all - Eternal Salvation of Human being. It was needed for our human minds because we are quite inquisitive
@DanielsASJ AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!! WELL SAID. ❤🤗🙏

Long enough to realize it was contradictory and to see that the teachers of my church got angry when asked about these contradictions....from a child.
Ive looked at it since with the gained knowledge of an adult, but it has only shown more cracks, bad translations, power hungry bias from human hands and that it was segmently stolen from older relfions over its evolution .
I think it still has some valididty, but not in the sense that many give it.
Im still studying it on an off....along with other religious books.

There are times it is my main source of Spiritual food. The Holy Spirit helps me with the hermeneutics. Currently I trust TD Jakes with the Sermons that I listen to.
I haven't studied much lately. When I did, I went through the book chapter by chapter. For a while, I studied with a retired pastor, and it was wonderful—so much better than doing it on my own.
@WonderGirl I wasn't a churchgoer; I just liked to study the Bible. I tried going to church, and I went to more than a few, but I never fit in. Since I study the Bible, most churches did not align with what I knew from the Bible.

Do you even know what the real Ten Commandments are?

We must make a study of God....what He loves...what He hates....how He speaks and how He acts.
I cannot imitate a God whose features and habits I have never learned...
We must make a study of Him if we want to become like Him.
We must seek His face.
I do regularly with abandon.

I read portions of the Bible every day, and I've studied it for over 50 years.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
That depends. Now? Not as much as I should, though probably more than many.
When I was in college? Massive amounts, often pulling all nighter study sessions for the exams that would come the next day.

What story in the New Testament illustrates the 10th Commandment?

I read and study it every day. Depending on the context maybe 30 mins to an hour.
Some sections like certain chapters of John are so rich I studied them for 2 hours.

I've read it several times. All I can salvage is three basic ideas in afterlife, salvation and reciprocity.
MissingLink · 51-55, M
Zero now, went to Catholic school and Catholic college, one thing I learned is the Bible is just an interpretation of how they understood the world and not fact. The difference between Catholics and evangelicals.
@MissingLink What's the difference between Catholics and evangelicals?
MissingLink · 51-55, M
@LadyGrace they don't take the Bible as historical fact
@MissingLink Which one?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
I don't study it. I remember what I was taught in school Religious Knowledge lessons (sadly teaching only about Christianity), from occasional services and from theologians on the radio.
I don't even have a copy of the Bible.

There used to be a bookshop not far from me, that specialised in religious and theological books.

All they were showing you at the church was that a church is not a place for healing, which sounds counter-intuitive considering how the church otherwise bills itself to the masses.

@greensnacks Back in the day when I believed in it, I read it clear through from cover to cover three times. And while that sounds impressive, I had literally nothing better to do with my time in those days.
greensnacks · F
@LordShadowfire it was national geographic that ruined it for me.
calicuz · 56-60, M
I don't study, I simply look up scriptures one, or a few, at a time and correlate them to modern day life. If it is wise then I apply it, if it's ridiculous, I disregard.
