What's your two cents on this?

One of the reasons I don't believe the Bible is 100 percent authentic is because it's hard to believe that the Earth was created and had light on it a day before the Sun was created. How could there be light without the Sun? Even if God is light, why would he have to say "let there be light" in order for there to be light, and where was the light coming from before he created the Sun? Did it start coming from God when he said that? I suppose this may be one of those, " doesn't make any sense or logical reasoning, but we must have faith it's true" kinda situations.

It's not a big issue for me. He's speaking the universe I to existence, He can do it how He wants. If His thought process is hard to understand, welcome to being a Christian lol. He's God, His thoughts aren't our thoughts.

@TexasDude you never know, it might be. I'm not questioning God's existence or power. I'm just questioning the validity of the entire Bible. Some of it seems crazy. But you're right, God is more powerful than any of us can ever imagine

@Sweetguy024 And yet it all can be reasonably explained. I honestly suggest the works of Lee Strobel to help understand more about the Bible. "The Case for Faith", for example, gives some great answers on big questions including Hell

@TexasDude thank you, I'll look it up later. I did look him up a little bit last night. Very intelligent man

Even in the scientific view of history light first came into existence at the big bang and that was before the Sun ever came into existence.. But you have a problem with the Bible because it says light existed before the sun existed.... Try and make sense of that..

How many times has people had near death experiences when they saw God as a Being radiating light? I sometimes wonder why people have problems with issues like this one.. So easy to answer,,

@Adstar that's true too, but the light from the big bang isn't what lights up the earth. According to science the big bang happened billions of years before earth was created. I believe God was behind creating everything, including the big bang if that really is where the universe came from.
Just curious, do you believe in space or do you think it's made up to trick people?
Also I have heard that, makes sense since God is light. That's the light at the end of the tunnel, either God and/or angels. I've also heard NDEs of people who didn't believe, and where heading to what they perceived as hell or a place of torment. And they heard a voice that said to call for God, and when they did Christ came and saved them. I like to think that happens to everyone when they go.

Part of the Big bang story is that ancient galaxies existed producing light before the sun came into existence.. In any case light existed before the earth came into being.. And in any case just because the Bible states that light existed before the earth that does not mean that that light shined on the earth before the sun did.. Just because light exists does not mean it is viable on earth..

Yeah.. Why would i not believe in space?? God created the universe so therefore He created time and space..
Also I have heard that, makes sense since God is light
Well the term Light can be symbolic of good guidance.. I can be a light to someone else if i share great wisdom with them.. It does not actually mean i can radiate a physical light..

I have watched Utube video's about NDE's and yeah i watched one about a guy who claimed to experience that exact experience.. I don't rely on human claims of NDE's experiences.. Some of them are very interesting but i have no doubt people fake NDE accounts to gain some kind of social credit and attention.. Some of them describe a hell that does not alight with the descriptions of Hell or the Eternal lake of fire in scripture.. So i don't even bother continuing to watch those video's..
Like it or not, we’re all children of The Enlightenment. Demanding strong evidence before committing to a belief is a right of Man.

Also, your beliefs most likely depends on where and when you were born. Following without question the religion of the parents.
Sweetguy024 · 36-40, M
@BlueSkyKing that's true, most people have their religion due to where they grew up and who they were raised by
@Sweetguy024 If someone ask me for my opinion on what was the greatest invention of history, I’d say an idea called "The Scientific Method".
Sweetguy024 · 36-40, M
@BlueSkyKing what's that idea? Lol idk what I'd say

Because God. Because magic. "Because God works in mysterious ways" blar dee blar
