What sort of person feels the desperate need to spam Bible verses all day without context?

Patientlywaiting · 46-50, FVIP
Sometimes the goal is not to convert people but just to share with other Christians.
@Patientlywaiting The forum system as it is now is kind of broken. The fact one person can hijack an entire forum like that speaks to the problem.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, FVIP
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow if she is posting Christian stuff though it's on topic. 🤷🏼 Anyway, it doesn't bother me, I hadn't even noticed.
@Patientlywaiting Yes, but if I write ten or twelve posts in rapid succession on the topic of witchcraft, even if I post them in my vanity forum "Furry Witches", it can be seen throughout the Religion section.

However, I am quite finished complaining about the matter.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
I actually really appreciate them. It brings blessing upon us.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Someone lost in their own delusions.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I never understood that either. Doesn't seem like a very effective way of converting people.
Adstar · 56-60, M
Now you have posted an opening post in the Christian section of SW... Did anyone force you to post this post ? NOPE did anyone pressure you to start a topic in the Christian section about Christianity??? NOPE.. So much for you two faced assertion that Christians are pressuring you by expressing their beliefs..

No, I genuinely cannot comprehend having so little pride in how you present yourself on the internet that you do not care.
When a human being ( whoi is imperfect ) gives a message to another on such an important matter then to get a response from that person using an insignificat side issue ( a spelling mistake ) as some kind of justification to reject the message is just pathetic.. Even with the spelling mistake any reasonable person would still understand the message of the statement because of the context of where the mispelled word was.. Your and You're would not be had to figure out if placed in a mixed up way in a detailed explaination by normal people..
Now, if you are done trying pathetically to distract from the point
You are the one who braught up the spelling error,, How can you be so hypocritical as to then state that I am distracting from the point.. Astounding and pathetic at the same time..
you have literally made the claim that I have a moral obligation to block those who are bulldozing over the beliefs of others.
I never used the word ""Moral"" or ""Obligation"" i simply made a simple request.. I am a Christian and i don't want to waste my time with those determined to resist the world of God to an illogical extent.. I want to interact with genuine open minded people who are seeking God, Seeking to understand their existence.. I can accept people then rejecting Christianity and moving on with some other avenue of inquiry.. It's a sad thing for me but i can accept it.. But dealing with hate filled anti-christs who simply mock and denigrate and troll Christian topic posts.. That's not my cup of tea.. I do respond to them to defend the Gospel,, But it is far more wonderful to respond to and discuss the Word of God with reasonable people who are Seeking to understand Christianity / Jesus...

Defending the Gospel is a chore

Sharing the Gospel is wonderful
@Adstar
Even with the spelling mistake any reasonable person would still understand the message of the statement because of the context of where the misspelled word was.
Punctuation fixed. Misspelling fixed. My point is, you do not appear to take pride in how you present yourself.
You are the one who brought up the spelling error.
At which time you chose to fixate on that fact, and ignore the rest of what I had to say. You are now obsessed with berating me because it is difficult for me to focus on your message with your innumerable misspellings, punctuation errors, grammatical errors, etc., and I think it is because your argument is too weak to stand up against inquiry. (Incidentally, as I continue to quote you, you will find I am correcting said errors, as I cannot in good conscience commit them myself, even as a quote.)
I never used the word "moral" or "obligation". I simply made a simple request.
Incorrect. You first demanded that I leave the Religion section, implying that your religion is the only religion permitted to be discussed here. When I responded to the implied statement, you then falsely claimed you had never said that. You now demand that I block anyone who is spamming Bible verses or otherwise pushing your particular religion on everyone else in the section. You seem to take personal offense that I will not do so.
I am a Christian and i don't want to waste my time with those determined to resist the world of God to an illogical extent.
God is illogical. However, that being said, are you telling me that you would rather I burn in hell for all eternity then you make the attempt to convince me that I am wrong?
But dealing with hate filled anti-christs who simply mock and denigrate and troll Christian topic posts...
Publicly disagreeing is not trolling. Showing logical arguments why your religion is illogical is not trolling. You are angry, and I suspect it is because you realize the impossibility of proving logically the existence of your particular deity of choice.
Defending the Gospel is a chore.
Then you do not love it.

I;m not fake.. I am not obsessed by image.. It's not about me,, I am focused on the LORD and His Perfection.. I will never be perfect this side of the grave.. People like you attack the individual to avoid dealing with the actual topic being discussed.. When people run out of arguments against God they turn to pathetic personal attacks against messengers of God,, based on trivial things of no eternal importance like Spelling..

Says the one who is obsessed with grammar and seeing a spelling mistake as a sin a transgression.. Talk about having ones priorities wrong..
You first demanded that I leave the Religion section,
Nope i said ""Please"" that's not a demand that is a request.. A request i would ask of anyone who is not interested in Christianity.. If a person has made their mind up to reject Christianity they should move on and get involved in topics they are still open to.. They are wasting their own time and the time of Religious people by trolling religous discussion forums..
God is illogical. However, that being said, are you telling me that you would rather I burn in hell for all eternity then you make the attempt to convince me that I am wrong?
I have come to accept there will be people who shall be burning in torment in the eternal lake of fire forever and ever no matter how many arguments or debating points a Christian delivered to them because they Hate the Love of the Word ( The Gospel ) If one rejects the Word of God then they end up being given over by God to delusions and deception.. Some people are mentally blocked from understanding anything deep about God.. As i said before i do not wish to waste my time with people who are destined to be cast into the eternal lake of fire.. I want to meet with and talk to people who are still open to the Message of God and who need some help on their spiritual journey to eternal life with God.. God foreknows who they are..
Publicly disagreeing is not trolling.
I don't mind if a person says to me they reject the LORD Jesus because they disagree with some teaching or law or message Jesus / God has given.. I have had people like that.. From other religions who have told me that the Gospel is blasphemous and have walked away.. I accept that.. They don't return to me day after day after day after day trolling me attacking me spitting on Jesus with their worlds.. They move on back to their own religion or onto seeking other religions.. Cool they are out of my hair i can now spend my limited time on earth looking for new people who might be open to the world of the LORD.. Who need a little help to come to being Saved from the eternal lake of fire..

In my opinion there are three kind of Christian posts
1) Call to prayer - Let us pray. I don't mind them, it's their right to pray.
2) Posting Biblical verses - Not sure the reason, but I can ignore them and they don't offend me.
3) Challenging people of different beliefs - well that is where I feel perfect fine rebutting their arguments. These posts are usually angry and belligerent.

Actually had someone suggest I should be stoned.
I mean they were just making a friendly offer, if you don't want their weed, don't take it 🤷‍♂️ 🤪

@BritishFailedAesthetic funny but seriously what a comment! And they think that's Christian?? There are some very unhinged people here. 😟
@Patientlywaiting Yeah, I wish pix would do what a certain Lord does here and hint at the username!

I tend to agree with Matt85 and a few other positive comments here. This is the Christianity section and a Christian simply sharing what is considered inspirational does not speak of "desperation" or even some driven need to convert. In circumstances of sharing with fellow Christians no other context is required.
@SW-User The problem as I see it is that when one enters the Religion section, all of the posts from every subsection are thrown into a single muddled mess. And anyone as familiar with this website as the user to whom I am alluding would appear to be, would know that this is the effect they are having. Yet they continuously spam Bible verses, sometimes 8 or more in an hour, until they have flooded the entire section.

@CorvusBlackthorne Yes, the various "feeds" here are pretty confusing, at least to me! Just to say that I am not a Christian and have actually blocked the poster concerned. I simply do not want the posts cluttering up my feed, such as it is.

Then again, I might now become desperate enough (😀) to post a few verses from Buddhist texts on the Buddhism section! Watch that space!

All the best.
@SW-User I posted a few stanzas from the Havamal a few times to make that point.
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
I don't have a problem with it. I would spend my days posting praises of my Goddess, my SW Mistress 🥰, if I could!
I even found this trend confusing when I was still a Christian.

I knew a guy who could string together cliche after cliche seemingly endlessly. One night we were driving and he was over a hour late getting us to our destination.

He said:

You don’t throw the baby out with the bath water…

I lost it…

I said WTF does that mean?
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, FVIP
@Muthafukajones I like idioms a lot but I have an autistic son who just doesn't get them at all, which is very common for those on the spectrum so I've got used to having to understand and explain them to him. Luckily I've never known a person to constantly use them in conversation. That would be a bit weird. Who is the guy and why does he speak like that?
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
@Patientlywaiting He has some brain damage from doing a lot of drugs. He’s a kindly older man who goes to church a lot. A few years ago when I wasn’t driving he was giving me rides to work a lot and would drive me nuts while driving me to work.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, FVIP
@Muthafukajones I think the older generation seem to use more of them in general for some reason.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Patientlywaiting yes both sides need to work on that myself included at times
