What sort of person feels the desperate need to spam Bible verses all day without context?

Sometimes the goal is not to convert people but just to share with other Christians.
@Patientlywaiting I cannot imagine having the need to simply post Bible verse after Bible verse, 20 or 30 times in an hour. It makes the feed unreadable, particularly for members of other religions.

@CorvusBlackthorne so don't read it and move on... ☺️
@Patientlywaiting When one literally discovers an entire page of such posts, it becomes extraordinarily difficult to ignore, and borders on spam.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, FVIP
@CorvusBlackthorne really? You should pride yourself on your observation skills. 90% of this site is stuff I'm not interested in and I can pass by without stopping to comment on any of it.
@Patientlywaiting I am versed enough in sarcasm to know when I have been insulted. Your opinion regardless, such spamming is an aggressive form of proselytizing, and it makes the feed very difficult to navigate.
@CorvusBlackthorne I just block them so their posts don't show up on my feed.

@NativePortlander1970 @CorvusBlackthorne Yes! Feel free to block me. 😘 I'm collecting blocks today!! Here's a Bible passage especially for you to contemplate. (and a little pinch of sarcasm meant in the sweetest possible way cause I know you love it)
Love and peace ❤️

Job 19:8
He has blocked my way so I cannot pass; he has shrouded my paths in darkness.
@Patientlywaiting Whatever🙄
@Patientlywaiting I do not block fools. I do my best to educate them.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, FVIP
@CorvusBlackthorne come on, you can try harder than that, I'm still smiling and really happy in my ignorance. 😘❤️

How many views? 0-1. Anyone can find or make a Bible verse meme and post it. It's meaningless and it distracts from more meaningful exchanges.

@AkioTsukino Actually i mostly like discussing my Christian beliefs with other Christians and then i do enjoy dicussing my beliefs with people of other religions.. Discussing Christianity with most atheists with their attitudes is more of a burden.. Usually an unplesant experience.. I do it out of a desire to please the LORD knowing He does not want anyone to perish but for all people to be saved.. The Bible is not meaningless.. The very reason why people engage in Christian discussions is because the Bible has so much meaning..
@AdstarThe Bible means more to me than anything in my life. I enjoy discussing it with others more than anything else. I would love it if the Bible spam were attempts to do that. If they had some personal or theological significance. I would love to discuss them. But they don't. And they distract. Now, it's the poster's right to spam the forums with meaningless Bible applications but they can see that no one is paying any attention. They could change so that someone would or remove the pearls before the swine.

It isn't about the Bible.

@AkioTsukino People who are Bible based will use the scriptures to move those who are responsive to the Word of God.. Just because you're not personally moved by the Holy Bible does not mean others cannot read scriptures and be moved by them.. Just because you like to do it a certain way does not mean that everyone else is the same as you..

So keep on keeping on with the way you like to do things and let other people keep doing it the way they feel moved to do it.. And let The Holy Spirit move those God foreknowns.. If someone is doing things the bad way then they will have to face God one day.. Let God be the Judge.. Stop trying to undermine other peoples witnessing for God.. If they are doing the will of God and you are attacking them and undermining their efforts then YOU will have to face God in the future to give account of why you where attacking and undermining other witnesses of God..

@CorvusBlackthorne Of course i do.. I have read the Holy Bible..

(John 14:6) "Jesus saith unto him, [c=BF0000]I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.[/c]"

(Acts 4:10-12) "Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that [c=7700B2]by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead[/c], even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. {11} This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. {12} [c=7700B2]Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved[/c]."

And there are plenty more.. Again it has nothing to do with Christians ego or arrogance.. Christians have to believe the message of the Bible to be Christians.. And a part of those Bible teachings is the exclusivity of the Christian religion..
@Patientlywaiting That would be more believable if various verses were presented in a conversation and relevant to the context of said conversation.

This is not it.

The example presented here are posts of completely random verses like they are being run through a fortune cookie generation program.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow every Bible passage that's posted by Christians is intended to bless someone, just because you don't feel blessed by them, doesn't mean that some people are not and I don't think there always needs to be a conversation inspired by such posts. Some people post random non Christian memes that they find funny or touching in some way too but nobody accuses them of spamming or whatever.
@Patientlywaiting yeah no. Relevant context is one of the basic requirements for all language based communication.

No need to pretend spam is profound based exclusively on it being religious.
@Patientlywaiting Very true, well put! 👍
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, FVIP
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow There's relevant context even to any cutsie meme that someone posts here. The context is that the OP thought it was funny or touching or just wanted to share it, there doesn't need to be a deeper philosophical reason for it. The same is true of biblical memes but they will be more meaningful to Christians just because they are scripture based. Just because you don't like to see them, doesn't mean that everybody feels the same way.
@Patientlywaiting I agree but we are not talking about memes here. I have run into the same account referenced here and the behavior and sheer volume of posts is more consistent with a bot.
@Patientlywaiting The other tactic in play here is it is all posted to general religious threads is to bury any non Christian posts in noise.

I don't know if that's the case but it is the only logical reason I can see for doing it. Ultimately I don't care because I can mute or block or ignore (whatever they called it). They can post as much as they like and it has no effect on me.
