Tattoos are not for me. I'm not really very fond of seeing them on most people, not because I think there is anything wrong with having them but because so many of them seem so poorly executed.
I think people have went a little overboard with the tattoo craze, Its going to be interesting as they get older and see the markings they have put on their bodies in a different light.
@JennyD90 Agreed. If I had on my body today what I thought was cool when I was 25, I would want to rip my skin off.
I've told young people I know contemplating a tattoo: Go put on your favorite shirt . . . . now imagine wearing that same shirt every day . . . . for the rest of your life!!!
In my case, it would be a tie-dyed shirt from the '60s 🫣 🤢 😖 !!!

Have four of them. My dad’s writing, a drawing he did, a word in remembrance of my mom, and a dara knot celtic tree below the back of my neck. I often forget the two I have on my back even exist because I never see them, but the other two are in full view enough for them to remind me of their coolness.
I have them, but I got my first at a time when they were not popular, especially on women. So I have a total of four, discreetly placed, where they can be covered by clothing (my parents didn’t know about them for years). And they are symbolic to me with meanings unlikely to change in my lifetime, no personal names. I plan to get a last one, a small sunflower, to honor my mother, whom I lost last year. 🥺
@bijouxbroussard im so very sorry for your loss i lost my mom at 18 i had just left for college im still traumatized til this day. I have 2 daughters in college and i still think about it.

@AngelUnforgiven That's the weird thing, though. I got my ears pierced the second time after my second attempt at a nose piercing failed.
My ears didn't get infected - yet, there was no putting anything on my ears after the piercing was done. I vaguely remember that they used to give a little bottle of alcohol solution they used to give you many years ago... but they stopped that between the 1990's and early 2000's, when I got my second piercings done.

@AngelUnforgiven I was about to and then decided to wait 24 hours and then the next day the will to do it sort of faded...so maybe it was an impulse more than a real desire for me?

While I may be prejudiced and biased against women with tattoos, I am not ignorant about this issue. I wouldn't touch one who has tattoos with a 50 foot pole.
@Musicman Leviticus 19:28 in the Old Testament, which states, "You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord."
@Moneyonmymind its not too late. If you still want one. When i got my last one number #18 my mother in law was getting her 1st one. I thought that was cool she got a flower and my husband & his brother's names.
