I wonder if folks realize How large eagles really are.

There are some Golden Eagles that nest in the creek canyon at the farm . They are huge . If they could only move hay for me

@TexChik They are huge birds; we have Bald Eagles around my farm. Love the hay moving idea!

@TexChik I've seen videos of them lifting up mountain goats and tossing them over the side of the mountains

@Ferric67 They catch coyotes, newborn calves, and fawns. They are very dangerous

That's a big one! There are some eagles flying around where I live. I have never seen one up close like that.
robertsnj · 56-60, M
they are endangered in New Jersey but I have seen a few on bike rides. They don't let humans get anywhere near them--always from a distance.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@robertsnj Eagles are protected species across the United States.

@WillaKissing they are not being hunted / not sure why their is an issue with them. population is rising in NJ but not a lot of them
WillaKissing · 56-60
@robertsnj The American eagle in the 1970's until the 1980's was nearly extinct in the Lower 48 states of the United States due to certain pesticides that animals ate off of vegetation and produce and the Eagle's ate those animals, and it killed the Eagles to make it a short narrative. The Chemicals got banned and the Eagles protected. It is nice to see our National Bird flying over our country again.

They do steal lambs and have tried to steal babies before

Wedge tailed eagles are known to pick up Roos and children
Primnproper · 56-60, F
That’s amazing!
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Primnproper It is and quite humbling too.
