Those of you who are annoyed Israel is defending itself again should visit Auschwitz, and be honest!
The Israelis, as Jews, will NEVER let this happen again, and instead of unfriendly Europeans all around them then they have unfriendly Arabs and Muslims....
I'm not Jewish, I'm Christian, and my Lord Jesus was born a Jew, so I feel with reflection we can see why the Israelis might seem heavy handed.

@LeopoldBloom If Hamas had funding, they wouldn't be using cheap ass rockets that have been outdated since before I was even born. Their arms are obsolete and their tactics are simple and dumb, because they don't have anyone who knows what the fuck they're doing.
Furthermore, it doesn't make a difference if their offer was made in good faith or not. They're obviously not offering to cease their violence because they're just nice people and wanna get along with everyone. They're hateful and gross, we know that, but they're also impossibly outnumbered and outgunned, and they fucking know it. They made that offer because they didn't wanna die.
You're gonna acknowledge that it's wrong to hide insurgents in civilian populations because they can cause harm to innocent people, but you're not gonna acknowledge that it's even more wrong to just bomb the entire population into oblivion? Installing military forces in a civilian population IS a war crime, as it should be. It's wrong because it puts those civilians in danger. And therefore, bombing the same civilian population should also be a war crime because that also harms them.
every country has the right to defend itself from attack. Hamas decided to launch rockets against Israel with no attempt to hit only military targets. Israel has the right to defend itself and take Hamas out.
i feel for the palestinian people who are being goverened by people who are hell bent on destroying Israel where as they should be making peace and helping their people out of poverty.
And dont forget after 9/11 america had the right to strike back.....
Funny you bring up Auschwitz. Israeli lawmakers recently discussed the prospect of rounding up Palestinian civilians living near the occupation zone and putting them in, and I quote, "internment camps."
Now that certainly isn't something that a different group of people did in history, is it?

The Jewish people have a right to safety, made more urgent by the attempted extermination that killed so many of them while other countries still scorned or ignored them. What they don't have a right to is land that other people were already living in that was arbitrarily handed over to them by a colonial power that was itself occupying the land by force. They especially don't have the right to expand from there into neighboring sovereign countries against the wishes of those countries and the people living in them.

They can't invest in beach hotels. They're not even allowed to connect their own buildings to a municipal water supply or the power grid. If they install solar panels, they're taken away. You're gonna make a beach hotel with no running water and no electricity?

Israel pulled every Jewish settler out of Gaza in 2005 and withdrew its military. The blockade wasn't imposed until two years later. Instead of development, they focused on building tunnels and rockets to continue their quest for a judenrein Middle East. The Palestinians deserve to live in peace, but so do the Israelis.

I have visited Auschwitz and Birkenau. It is a truly horrific place. It is heartbreaking to see what happened when Europe turned its back in humanity.
However, this is a poor attempt to misguide and mislead the events happening in Palestine/Israel.
What is happening now is about occupation of land, not just religion. Jerusalem is a holy place for Jews, Muslims and Christians. The three faiths all stem from Abraham.
