Impeachment madness

https://youtu.be/EQ3K1cyC0ls

So apparently the impeachment has been possibly exposed as a political hit job against our president (not at all surprised).

This will die in the senate, absolutely none of the Republicans voted against Trump. I predict he is still on track to win next November and I hope that the likes of Pelosi, Schiff, AOC, Omar, etc all find themselves without jobs.

What say all of you?

Also, keep it civil.

Stop paying attention to random mongs on YouTube, that shit will rot your brain.

At this point, it doesn’t matter who the whistleblower is - and it never really did. The IG found the complaint credible. And much of the material presented in it has been confirmed.

That’s where we are now.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The crazed folks on the fringes of both sides are a loud overly publicized small minority. @QuietChaos
QuietChaos · 56-60, M
What you’re saying is true. The far left is louder than the sane left. And in Liberal communities, the pressure to be more left than the next guy trumps any sort of critical thinking. @jackjjackson
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The same applies to the right. @QuietChaos
curiosi · 61-69, F
They can't beat him and they know it. This is what they believe to be the best shot at regaining power.
@curiosi ^Bingo^ Everything else is window dressing.
@curiosi Yes, as I mentioned in an earlier post. I couldn't agree more.

The proposition that because a witness MAY be a Democrat, therefore his account of events must be flawed, is, well, flawed logic.

This, however, is Trump's trademark, and he's been very successful in imprinting it on his supporters.

When a judge rules against him, in the Trump University case, it's not because he's guilty of defrauding the most vulnerable, but because the judge is Mexican (never mind that the judge is from Colorado).

When Mueller takes a position, it's not because he's a good, impartial investigator, it's because he's got a conflict of interest, seeing that years ago, he was a member of a Trump Golf club, and asked for partial refund, as he was moving.

The fact, is that the IG, a Republican Trump appointee, saw that the complaint was credible.

The fact, is that the special envoy to the Ukraine, a decorated veteran, was spooked enough about it.

The fact, is that even Bolton, thought it was credible.

This is hardly a hit job. The other way of thinking about it, is the GOP House members, who voted against today, are scared about losing, if they don't support Trump, and not because they think he did not do anything wrong.

The GOP was screaming about not being let in on the hearings. The fact though, is that this was all theatrics, especially the staged "storming" of the hearing room. A total of 43 GOP House Members, had full access to the hearings, as members of the three committees allowed to participate. Democrats, who are NOT part of these committees, were not allowed to attend either.

As far as 2020 is concerned, we shall see, but in the short term, it is up to the House to take the next step, in preventing a slide into authoritarianism.

Are you willing to consider facts, or continue watching random Vloggers, waxing philosophic on YouTibe?

@Northwest
Inspector General Michael Atkinson wrote, “Further although the ICIG’s preliminary reviewed identified some indicia of bias of an arguable political bias on the part of the complainant in favor of a rival political candidate, such evidence did not change my determination that the complaint relating to the urgent concern ‘appears credible’ particularly given the other information the ICIG obtained during its preliminary review.”
Seems pretty simple to me 🤷‍♂️
Northwest · M
@QuixoticSoul It is pretty simple. The IG was doing his job, like he should. Trump thinks government workers are subjects, and loyalists. The Constitution gives clear guidance, that this is NOT the case, and their job, along with our elected officials, is to protect the Republic and the interest of the people, not the President.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Northwest Ah, but see - anyone who made a career out of working for the government over multiple administrations, and rose through the ranks with a reputation for professionalism and bipartisanship?

Deep state agent.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Republicans are too spineless to put their nation ahead of the party and would rather turn a blind eye than actually investigate whether the president has actually broken his oath and committed crimes through abuse of his office.

Don't know Schiff. Pelosi is meh. We need a lot more like AOC.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Whaddaya mean?
I just gave a quick, simple explanation that my dog could understand.
I'll ask him to make you a drawing.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Budwick I did not see you define socialism as the workers owning the means of production. So I generally assume you did not have a proper definition.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Budwick So you don't know.
Smart23 · 51-55, F
Trump should be impeached. He isn't a very good president. His speeches are mostly lies.
I am not a Democrat but I don't support Trump anymore.
Smart23 · 51-55, F
@LadyGrace Trump has lied more than any other president. Look at the fact checker after his speeches.
@Smart23 Well, we'll just have to disagree on that.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Smart23 More than slick willie "I did not have sex with that woman" clinton?
If it is, I will know beyond a shadow of any doubt that our government and the GOP have been irredeemably corrupted. I don’t understand how anyone can still support a president who basically blackmailed a foreign representative for dirt on an American citizen in order to become re-elected. And he admits that he did, he just doesn’t see anything wrong with it.
@Roadsterrider This is what Politifact says about Biden:
The viral image said that when Hunter Biden was serving as "a director to Ukraine’s largest private gas producer," his father "threatened to withhold $1 BILLION in U.S. aid to Ukraine if they didn’t fire a prosecutor looking into" the gas company.

The image gets individual pieces of this assertion right -- Hunter Biden was a director of the company, and Joe Biden did leverage U.S. aid to fire a prosecutor. But it overreaches by assuming that Joe Biden acted to protect the company his son was affiliated with. In reality, there was widespread agreement in the West that the existing prosecutor had to go, and it’s not clear that the company would have benefited from his ouster anyway, given evidence that its cases had long been dormant.

That said, experts criticize the Bidens for their arrangement, saying it could have been a significant conflict of interest.

We rate the statement Half True.
So Biden may end up not being president. But Trump is, and you folks want to re-elect him. As far as the Trump transcript, do you know for a fact what you've read ? Why is Trump trying to keep people from testifying if there's nothing to hide ? Why are his allies accusing Vindman (who listened to the call) of being "unpatriotic" for simply telling the truth ? And what would Vindman (a Republican) have to gain by not going along, if there was nothing wrong ?
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard He did leverage to get the prosecutor fired but it is a "half truth because we can't be sure he did it to protect the company his son worked for? How could a real journalist come up with anything so obtuse. He leveraged a foreign government to fire a prosecutor that was investigating the company but we aren't sure he was protecting the company by getting the guy fired. The smell test says he was trying to protect either the company or his son. He should be right there next to Trump in the hearings explaining why Trump had to fix his screw up with a foreign power.
@Roadsterrider Trump didn't have to "fix" anything. He was looking for "dirt", the same way Donald Jr was lured into that meeting with the Russian representative on the promise of "dirt" on Hillary, because that's what they do. And I ask you again, why is Trump fighting the truth coming out, by his own people (like Lt. Col. Vindman) ? Ask yourself that ? Trump has always said, (during the last administration), "if you have nothing to hide, don't hide !"
Yet he's been telling people who aren't president and can be prosecuted to ignore subpoenas. You can't blame that on anyone but Trump.
President Trump is not likely to be removed from office through impeachment process. Even if every Democratic member voted for removal in a Senate trial, 20 Republican senators would have to turn on Trump to banish him from office. That outcome looks exceedingly unlikely today.

The more conceivable circumstances for Trump’s departure would be either 1) resignation, or 2) failure to win reelection. Trump shows no sign of resigning (it is not in his character to bail), so next year’s election looms as the epitome of all enormous boulders the Democrats have yet to successfully push uphill. Much less replace him with a more pliable Commander in Chief.

So, the likelihood is that Trump will probably be reelected for a second term and Congress would have nowhere to go in the event of another scandal. Not because the House couldn’t impeach him again, but because it would be politically impossible to do so as there would be no political will to endure another losing battle. In which case the Democratic party would suffer long-term damage and factional infighting resulting in fracture as a viable political entity into two or more weakened segments.

Like two quarreling brothers struggling for dominance within the family, sometimes you just gotta let warring parties duke it out and wrestle with their differences once and for all and let the chips fall where they may.
@QuixoticSoul You diminish yourself each time you open your mouth to speak. All that sound and fury signifying nothing.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M

Mitt Romney condemned Trump's call with Ukraine.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ajent86 ...and a partridge in a pear tree
@BlueVeins Mitt Romney is a Mormon who ascribes to the Book of Abraham in Mormon scripture when it contends that God is from the heavenly planet called 'Kolob' in a galaxy far, far away.

Voting someone into highest office near, near this land with such credibility is like allowing an Ayatollah to run the country.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@DudeistPriest Kinda like the previous President, eh?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
So what's motivating the Democrats?

Here are some thoughts (follow the money) ....

Could it be that Democrats are having behind the scenes meetings with Chinese middle-persons? If Democrats can get rid of Trump, the China trade wars could go away. How much $$ would China be wiling to dump into Democrat pockets if they can get Trump thrown out of the White House?

How about collusion between Democrats and Mexican drug gangs? If Mexican drug gangs can bribe Mexican officials, why can't they bribe Democrats? If the wall goes up, drug smuggling and human trafficking from Mexico would be more difficult, and it's not too far a stretch to imagine that Mexico's drugs can be replaced by China's drugs or even home grown drugs in the US.

So what's up? Why don't Democrats let the American people decide whether Trump stays or goes? Why are Democrat so anxious to get rid of him without giving the American people the chance to decide for themselves?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Heartlander 😂😂😂

How do people even get to this point lmao. You’re completely divorced from reality.
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
@Heartlander They can't admit that things that he promised to do are happening, and truth be told, I think the RNC would like to see him go away as well. He is an outsider and is accomplishing things that the people have wanted for decades. Both parties look like inept fools compared to Trump, the illusion that it takes a "career politician" to get anything done is being shattered.
Agree. Madness is right!
Zonuss · 41-45, M
He may win. But the damage is done as I have said before. He will self destruct and sabotage the Republican Party. You have not seen the worst of this story yet. Its coming. Brace yourself. 🙂
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Oh, now that everyone is aware that the steele toilet paper report is a bought and paid for by the democrat party pack of lies, used to obtain FISA warrants by the crooked FBI, only the bought and paid for whistleblower report is to be accepted as the gospel truth, right?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 Nobody is even bothering to challenge the whistleblower report on the facts lmao - you really have to move beyond it.

The defense is “so what”, not “no that didn’t happen”.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul LOL, your "whistleblower" report just simply proves that the President of the United States did nothing improper, let alone impeachable
missionfigdeluxe · 61-69, M
Either Trump will step down be impeached and or be arrested they have the goods on him, the Senate is going to flip in the next election if they ignore the need to take legal action against Trump, hopefully it will flip regardless
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Trump is a criminal. He needs to be removed from office and prosecuted for his crimes, as do a vast majority of the Republicans in Congress. That being said, he isn't the cause but merely a symptom of America's creeping descent into authoritarian oligarchy. Even if he were to be removed and convicted, the right-wing conspiracy to undermine the Constitution and install a corporate neofeudal theocracy would still be in place.

@WheelchairNOLA Really? I'd rather we just agree to disagree and accept that people have different views on things. Its easier and will shorten the war by about two years lol
WheelchairNOLA · 31-35, F
@SW-User I can agree to disagree with a lot of people about a lot of things. Not him not when he says what he says and acts the way he acts. I can't agree with stupid people.
