New Wave, Punk, Rock, classical, psychedelic, funk, etc.

And concerts were affordable then. I saw the Ramones, the Who, Pink Floyd, the Cult, Duran Duran, Heart, the Police, Bowie, Genesis, Neil Young, Rolling Stones, Nugent, Supertramp, etc.
zork0000 · 56-60, M
@Adstar I'm the same age and I, and most of my friends, listened to the Beatles a lot along with many other bands from the 60s during our teen years.

Rose0415 · 36-40, F
@summersong It only got two comments at first and I just said "Oh well" and logged out, then I logged back in a bit later and was like...

zork0000 · 56-60, M
@summersong Did you ever see my story about the Ramones concert I went to?
Singers? Bands?

Uh...no bands, but lots of orchestras
The New York Philharmonic
The Boston Symphony/Boston Pops
The Cleveland Symphony
The London Symphony
...

No singers, but pianists like Artur Rubinstein, Rudolf Serkin, Murray Perahia, ..., and violinists like Itzhak Perlman, Isaac Stern, Nathan Milstein, ...
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@SomeMichGuy Same here with added opera.
Adstar · 56-60, M
I used to listen to a lot of different music during my teens.. Most artists/bands could produce one or two good songs in their carrier but few held my attention for long.. The ones that held my attention where..

[big]Favorites"
Electric Light Orchestra
INXS
Eurythmics
Enya[/big]

[big]Worthy second tier mentions:[/big]
The Bangles
Crowded House
Depence Mode
Pet Shop Boys
The Police
Simple Minds
Talking Heads
Tears for Fears

But yeah there where a lot of bands and artists who could produce 2 or 3 really good songs but few who could keep performing to a high standard..
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Rose0415 Yep i like that police song.. But the song that had the most impact on me.. And it really did have an impact was King Of Pain.. Really sad song but i identified with it so much. Like it was a song made for me..

Adstar · 56-60, M
@Rose0415 Oh and i got the feeling that the song you like Wrapped around your finger was about the masonic lodge.. They lyrics just made me think about the masons..

I liked this video of the song.. They symbolism in it..

zork0000 · 56-60, M
@Adstar most bands spend years working in the songs that appear on their first album but then have to come up with another batch in a year. That's why you see the sophomore slump so often.
SW-User
Joy Division

zork0000 · 56-60, M

SW-User
@zork0000 I only saw them on their busking tour, in Nottingham station, without Mick Jones.
