I had a boss that took credit for my extra work for almost a year. The art I did for the shop, the plumbing repairs, painting and cleaning. She stole our tips and let her kids get out of daily chores we were supposed to share.
She ended up getting arrested for stealing money from her son's lacrosse boosters and my employers fired her.
It was awesome when they found out about the work I'd done and I got the credit back. I got a raise and my boss would buy me canvas and paint.

@SW-User That worked out really well in the end!

She emailed me to complain about me sitting at a certain cubicle. I’d only been working there a week, and didn’t know who preferred what cubicle. 🙄
She said I was disrupting their team’s ability to work. Funny thing is that she’d have had to ask around for my name in order to get my work email. All that energy and sneaking around; she should just have come up to me to say someone else usually sits there. I wasn’t about to kick up a stink over the seat.

@Colonelmustardseed people like that is what drives high turnover rates.

@Colonelmustardseed they let her get by with that?
Colonelmustardseed · 36-40
@cherokeepatti I wasn’t going to engage in drama; especially my first week there, so I left it at my professional email response. However, I took satisfaction in getting a promotion the same time as hers even though I’d been there only a few months at that point. The look on her face. 🤷🏻♀️

had a guy i once fired supposedly call me from a bridge. said he was gonna jump and that i shouldn't have fired him. he hung up and i called 911. he called back and asked to talk to one of the other guys. he talked to him. hung up. all the while i was on phone with 911. he then called back and said he was gonna eat glass...it sounded like he did...he hung up, called back and wanted to talk to the other guy...he told him to tell me he was drinking alcohol with his mom at home...the glass crunching sounds were ice cubes....what a nut he was

Unfortunately my line of work often attracts those with more unmet needs than the clients they're supposed to serve.
They score 100% on the 'empathy' but are like having a seven year old with behavioural problems around the office.
Over the years i've known some dominate staff meetings by driving the subject under discussion completely off base because they want validation for their own feelings on a completely unrelated matter.
Had some that if there's a 'practical task' would rather hide in the bathroom until it's completed by somebody else. Effectively leaving the team one member short for a period.
People who are constantly late or forever calling in sick TEN MINUTES before a shift is supposed to begin. Making it hard to find cover at such short notice etc.
But by far the worst are those who complain about other people TO other people they are working with. Spreading rumour and mistrust among those they are currently working with. Rather tha reporting any issue to management.
Now. In an ideal world, Management would be on their game and better selecting their staff from the get-go.
But, Even better would be to ACTUALLY MANAGE their staff IN their WORK environment !
But in my 34 years there have been few who managed that.

My ex colleague who had ego issues and for some reason thought of himself as the team manager or something sent me an email once saying that he had noticed that i was frequently leaving the office when my boss was not around, and he cc'ed our boss in the email.
That was true, but every time i left the office i had taken permission from my boss.
Me:
Didn’t even respond to his emial. Just forwarded his email to legal and HR and raised a complaint, and CC'ed the chairman of the organisation in the email.
Fun times! Thank god i don't work with crazy people anymore.

Last year
There was always drama she would bring with her to work ..or she would just not show up at all or was always late ...and said highly inappropriate things in the classroom around the students ...she was eventually fired

Her name was Brandy. little miss sunshine to my face but if I was 5 minutes late from break she'd run into the bosses office and whine about it. Two faced to the max.
She ended up getting transferred out. 🥳

She had 15 cats.
Perpetually in a bad mood and she had no problem lashing out at anyone for the smallest of things.
She was protected because the big boss seemed to really like her and she took advantage of the fact.
She was probably in a bad mood because her bf was into fetishes he paid people to fulfil and she had to hire private investigators to find out. 😂
Now I am afraid she might be here and suss me out.

There is one who would describe in full detail how she gave her boyfriend oral the night before. And it seems like she does it almost every night. I do not sit with her at lunch in the breakroom, she does not like me for some reason, but i do sit close enough to hear.
I would not call her insane or over the top, as it benefits me greatly to listen. The description is very detailed and helps me learn about it for future.

some dude was on drugs at work...
he came in and was like "I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO TODAY"
then proceeded to talk to everyone in the entire shop..."YES I AM GOING TO DO THIS ALSO"
then sat down and worked for about 5 minutes and then ran around the shop again doing random non productive stuff
just like this all day
it was hilarious
he got fired eventually for not knowing his job

I could probably write a book about some of those characters.
@cherokeepatti and would I also be in the book?

Her name was Claire. She was the oldest rep in the office...prune faced, and with a nasty personality to match her face. She was SO out there, that after I was out for 13 days after surgery, she walked up to me and told me she KNEW I had been out because I just wanted a free vacation.
I lifted up my shirt and SHOWED that b!tch my stitches. That shut her up. She didn't even apologize...just huffed off.

@4meAndyou hate people like that. damn old bat. LOL

@YourMomsSecretCrush Exactly! Vicious, stewing in their own old juices, out to hurt others.

This woman tried to get me fired bc I didn't want to be her friend. Then she said I gave her anxiety and she almost drove off the road thinking about me. Then she cried one day bc I didn't say hi to her. Her complaints were so ridiculous. Lol she was put on unpaid leave until she quit.
@Selah i supervised a woman like that. she wanted me to write these two other women up because they wouldnt have lunch with her. she eventually quit. it was a happy day.

I worked with a lady who I think was bipolar.
She went from sweet to WTF back to nice again like nothing ever happened.
It was really weird.

There was the clerk we referred to as "Church Lady" who was pretty ridiculous, nosy and gossipy.
She complained about a desk photo that a gay coworker had with her partner (just them standing together, not even touching).
She once overheard me and a friend (who is Wiccan) on break talking about the similarities between Wicca and Vodou (candle ceremonies, etc.). "Church Lady" began spreading the rumor that we were "devil worshippers".
The union got involved and told Church Lady that if family pictures were not to be allowed, everyone’s would have to come down (including those of her grandchildren).
Moreover, discussions about religion were okay on breaks or lunch away from the office, but prayer meetings were also not to be held on company property. She had been so proud of getting that arranged with a room set aside, and the rest of us hadn’t looked too closely because it kept her out of our hair. But her own complaints had brought it to the union’s attention.

A little b*tch called Olivia. She was 24 and really thought she owned the place. I was so nice to her when we first started working together. Idk what changed, she just decided she hated me suddenly and we almost had an altercation one night at work after she got loud with me. I got loud right back, and her eyes got really big. It was pretty obvious no one had EVER spoken to her like that. That's when I realized if I didn't ask to be moved away from her, I might go to jail for beating her ass.
So I requested a move and never had to deal with her again.
