There was the clerk we referred to as "Church Lady" who was pretty ridiculous, nosy and gossipy.
She complained about a desk photo that a gay coworker had with her partner (just them standing together, not even touching).
She once overheard me and a friend (who is Wiccan) on break talking about the similarities between Wicca and Vodou (candle ceremonies, etc.). "Church Lady" began spreading the rumor that we were "devil worshippers".
The union got involved and told Church Lady that if family pictures were not to be allowed, everyone’s would have to come down (including those of her grandchildren).
Moreover, discussions about religion were okay on breaks or lunch away from the office, but prayer meetings were also not to be held on company property. She had been so proud of getting that arranged with a room set aside, and the rest of us hadn’t looked too closely because it kept her out of our hair. But her own complaints had brought it to the union’s attention.
