Cheesecake · 61-69, M
From my first job cutting a rich guy's lawns aged 11, it's ten different employers (including holiday jobs and a brief spell self-employed) but about 15 different roles. Been with my current employer 17 years but nowadays wishing I hadn't 🙄
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
7 part time jobs throughout highschool and college, 3 full time as an adult and a bartending/cocktail waitress job part time as an adult
Adogslife · 61-69, M
11, if you go back to the beginning - cutting lawns for spending money.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@Adogslife Wow! I was 16.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@ProfessorPlum77 11 was the number of jobs. Lawns started at 12-13. By 16 I was painting houses. At 15 I made a ton of money picking tobacco. I used that to go to an Arnold Palmer golf camp in Vermont for three weeks. That’s was about $1,000 back in 1975!
Kiesel · 56-60, M
9 different companies.. one of them 3 different times and had numerous roles
meggie · F
4 and one part time job while i was still at school. I have enjoyed all of my jobs
Monday40 · 51-55, F

ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@Monday40 I understand.
darkmere1983 · 46-50, M

4meAndyou · F
20, from age 16 on.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@4meAndyou Which were your favorites and which your least favorites?

For me, the two best were my high school summer life guard jobs, and (surprisingly) my Vietnam tour. I don't think I have a least favorite.
4meAndyou · F
@Heartlander I didn't even COUNT my favorites...which were running a flea market stall on my weekends and going to yard sales to buy stock...and selling my handmade jewelry items at a consignment store!
RSquared · 61-69, M
Nine, if I haven't overlooked anything.
twiigss · M
Let's see, my first job lasted 3 weeks, then at some point I got a job as a dishwasher and had that job for a year, then my parents moved to another state, and I worked for a temp agency going from job to job, but I don't remember them all, so I just class the temp agency as 1 job. Then I ended up at a factory with the temp agency, got hired on full time and got laid off after 4 years there. Then I was a telemarketer for 11 months, worked at Walmart for 5 years, worked in a warehouse for 8 years, got laid off again, went to Burlington Coat Factory for 3 weeks, Best Buy for 1 month, back to a different warehouse for 11 months, and I'm at the place I'm at now, April will be 8 years.

So I've had 11 jobs since.... 1993 probably, give or take a few months here or there. I don't remember the exact dates/times/etc.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@twiigss Thank you.
Heartlander · 80-89, M

About 14 that I can recall. First job was cleaning a hair salon, worked as a nanny during uni. At an Australian themed pub in the UK during some years abroad.
CestManan · 46-50, F
I would guess 20, ranging from short-term temp jobs up to my last job which somehow lasted 13 years.

I do not stick around jobs I do not like.
exexec · 61-69, C
9 real jobs, not counting summer jobs as a teen. Only 2 jobs over the last 32 years before retirement.
plungesponge · 41-45, M
About the same. The longest job I held was 13 years though, so it's I'll stay if I like a place
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
9 if you count my first silly little jobs when I was a kid.
scorpiolovedeep · 51-55, M

ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@Different At your age, that is quite a few. Were some of them parttime jobs during high school?
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
If I include all the various employers about 8, but I've only worked in two industries - retail 1984 to 1990 and railways 1987 to now. Done shiftwork since 1990. Changed employer in the rail industry a half-dozen times.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@zonavar68 Thank you.
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
