Farm hand/laborer $20.00 a day plus a home cooked lunch, and my most favored job I ever had. I loved the elderly couple I worked for.

I grew up on my parent's farm. I worked there until I left for the military at 19. There was no pay....our efforts went in to the family farm.

Helping a buddy start his computer store. It was like $5/day. I was rather taken advantage of, but the work wasn't that hard most of the time
oldercanuck1 · 70-79, M
@ViciDraco ya i am not a people person either ,,, well in a business ,,
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@oldercanuck1 my problem is not about interacting with people. It's about asking people to split with their hard earned money especially in areas where people don't have much and just how much items are typically marked up from cost. I tend to have a very generous spirit and running a competitive business requires pretty much the opposite.
oldercanuck1 · 70-79, M
@ViciDraco yes things are mark up to high but they say it is the cost of doing business ,,, yes i used to be a picture framer for a bit as well and the mark up is wow 400 % of the cost to do it ,,

Babysitting was my very first job when I was 11 years old. The couple across the street stuck an 11 year old with no experience with their croupy baby because they couldn't get a sitter on New Year's eve. They gave me $5.00 for the whole night including tip and I wanted to kill my mother for saying I would do it.
Unquestioned · 70-79, M
Cabinet making, £5.00 a week - 10s/8d national insurance = £4/9s/4d. That was my first full time job. I had a paper round and helped the milkman when I was at school.
