Do you view everything through several shades of irony?

Seems like a lot of people online are like this. Nothing is serious, everything is fake and trying too hard and concern trolling and something to laugh at. Have you reached that stage of detached cynicism and nihilism yet?

No.
I reserve irony for what IMO seriously deserves it and not at all as an overall attitude.
More often on the social naturalization of prejudices than focused in individuals.
It´s not rare that I use it about myself, as a resourse against taking me too seriously when I lost perspective.
Of course and in my actual stage of life I don´t have the same easier spontaneous dreams about the future, life and love than I used to have.
But I sill respect the hopes of my youth.

Sadly you're right, others try to seem smart at all costs, disregarding everyone else. It's sad

That's mostly what I see. This need to be constantly entertained. How exhausting.

Almost everything. And it's been a lifelong learning curve. It helps keep the really bad stuff at arm's length until I find a better way to handle it.

Everybody has an agenda some are harmless some less so. What has changed is people’s ability to deliver their message without making it obvious.

Cynisim and nihilism, probably. Irony? Idk.
Not everything, but I am very aware of the irony existing in many situations. I assumed it was just part of getting old. 😅

Not to that degree and some shades are darker than others in my mind … like heavy clouds full of rain … almost bleak lol …. others are a mixture of black and white🤍🖤

My cynicism is rarely detached, and my nihilism is actually rather optimistic in nature. Nothing matters so we can decide what matters to us, but shit happens and I care deeply that it does. 😅
