People had their lives decimated because of evil and twisted ideology. 25 years doesn't take away the pain and suffering that caused, there are still grieving families who live with loss and trauma. It's not something anyone should be making a joke about. It's but for the grace of God go I.

I don't joke about this or any other violent acts.
It is a serious topic for me having survived an attack myself.
However, most people offended by these memes are inconsistent and fake. They don't mind their government committing or contributing in war crimes. Just that their side is the one paying the price.
So it is not really compassion or empathy which motivate their fake outrage, it is fear and the sense of belonging that comes with pretending to care.
That's why most people never follow a claim of empathy with actions.
