Pretty Privilege
A comment on a pic made me realize how far I’ve came.
At my heaviest, I was almost 400 pounds. Keeping the weight off for over 3 years now has been one of the hardest but most rewarding things I’ve ever done. It took years, patience, and so much effort to make a lasting change.
Believe me I tried everything.
I truly wanted to be different.
I wanted to be healthier.
I wanted to feel pretty.
But the journey wasn’t just physical. it was deeply mental too. Along the way, I realized something: the way people treat you can change drastically based on your size. When you’re bigger, people often overlook you or feel like they need to “get to know you” before showing you kindness. But as a smaller person, love and care are offered more freely, simply because of how you look even though you’re the same person inside.
It’s a harsh truth, but despite it all, I’m thankful. I’m grateful for my health and proud of how far I’ve come. This journey taught me resilience, and I’m happy to be where I am today.
And I offer kindness to everyone .
Because whether people know or not, I’m still the same big girl at heart ❣
