Yes. Extreme weather is here. Man made weather

That is a poor question, trying to be technical without really succeeding. (Who writes these things under the name "robot"?)
Here in S.W. England the prevailing winds are generally Westerly, from weather systems that develop over the Atlantic Ocean.
Winds are as frequent as they have ever been, ranging from the faintest zephyrs to full gales and occasional storms. Days with no wind at all are rare, but I think very light winds are more common in Winter anticyclones.
An increase in velocity" does not really mean much. Velocity is not only speed but direction as well.
Asking if higher wind speeds are more common, would make sense.
Strong winds including gales are more frequent.
We have seen some blurring of the seasons with Summers hotter and drier, and Winters generally milder, wetter and windier, with more gales, than for many decades.
Since depressions are typically up to about 1000 miles in diameter they affect several countries bounding the NE Atlantic Ocean, and our respective national meterological services take it turn to name storms. (Which I think a gimmick.)
The latest storm is developing off the Western Approaches, but its name, given by the Portuguese this time, escapes me. It is predicted to bring high winds and yet more rain, barely a week after the last one.

Not where I live but we also have very high winds on the regular not even during storms
It’s also some of the most densely forested land on the planet so it’s surprising we have such strong winds. It’s probably because of all the hills
There’s even a lot of restrictions on what kinds of trees you can plant here because a lot of them can’t survive the winds

We say “it’s a bit windy”. Here in England. Wind is frequent usually between October and April. Luckily most of the wind comes from the West or South. North Easterly wind is unbearable.

My boss has mentioned this. I’m in eastern Pennsylvania.

Yes, times are hard so I've been living on beans on toast.
Yes, for about a decade or so! It used to only be windy in the month of March, but now it's like that even in the summer.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
It's always windy here. We are known for the winds. And why there is so many wind turbines.
After 40 mph winds it just doesn't get noticed until over 80 miles per hour.

Welcome to a side effect of global warning. More water vapor in the air means more heating and cooling of the air leading to higher wind velocities..
Adogslife · 61-69, M
No. I’ve got ocean and bay all around. There’s always wind.
Horok · 31-35, M

Climate change IS REAL!
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@samueltyler2 you wouldn’t believe how much the climate where I live has changed in the last 6 months. It used to be lush w vegetation and warm . Now trees are barren and it’s cold enough to snow.
FreeorLonely · 51-55, F
No, but a hell of a lot more rain causing flooding and landslides.
AbbeyRhode · F
That, and the chemtrails.
swirlie · 31-35
No, I've noticed the opposite. I noticed the same thing back in 2008 just before the US banking sector collapsed from gross incompetency at the top.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
It's the farty fart effect.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I farted right before opening this.
swirlie · 31-35
@LordShadowfire
Farting is something I've never done. What does that experience actually entail?
