@FloorGenAdm When I was in school we were all sent home early because a blizzard was forecast. We walked from the bus to our house with our coats wide open, the weather was beautiful. A warm Chinook wind was blowing gently. The next morning we woke up and it was still beautiful out. We went to school. No blizzard happened.
@Heartlander we are smack dab in the middle of what they are forecasting. Over a decade ago they were forecasting a blizzard that was to hit on Christmas Eve and every news cast they kept repeating the warning and telling people to get prepared, stock up and get their shopping done BEFORE Christmas Eve. Some people either waited till they got paid or had time on Christmas Eve to do their shopping and some of those people got stranded on the roads. One man died because his pickup truck was covered with snow, he ran out of gas for the truck to run the heater and froze to death. His truck was on the side of a paved road. I went Moore and shopped stocking up on foods etc. My city had sprayed beet juice on two lanes of the 4-lane road so that any ice would probably melt on those lanes. Still I wouldn’t want to be out in this winter they are forecasting.
I remember being snowed in on Oct 15. It didn't leave until April. I remember it going to - 40 F and staying there for 6 weeks straight. We went through a lot of cattle feed those years.
The same storm is supposed to bring cold and ice to the DFW area. I hope the area's fragile power grid doesn't go down for a few days again. Today was grocery day. People seemed to be stocking up on dog food, snacks and beer.
We are expecting a winter storm on Saturday. It went from 15 inches of snow, now it has shifted, we are going to get an ice storm. Hoping i get 2 days off of work.
@cherokeepatti It's beautiful out today. No wind...just normal winter cold and lots of sun. They say that tomorrow the temperature is going to plummet to 15*, and it will snow on Sunday and Monday.
@4meAndyou I should have taken some CLA, I have a bottle of it, but was too tired from unloading everything & putting it up and making dinner (rotisserie chicken helped a lot with that) and cleaning up afterwards I forgot about the CLA. CLA will heal a pulled muscle quickly.
