The Local Meteorologist Keeps Increasing The Amount Of Snow They Are Forecasting For Oklahoma….

First it was 2-4 inches (maybe), then 4-6 inches and now 6-12 inches. With sleet hitting the ground first and possibly a quarter inch of ice. So cold that it won’t melt for at least 4-5 days. I wonder what they’ll forecast tomorrow morning.

Patti, finish up your preparations early. Be sure to stock fuel for your rocket stove.

@4meAndyou I got my shopping done yesterday afternoon. Before I finished the stores were getting crowded. I bought enough to last to the end of the month I think. Sent the boy to get a gallon of milk for himself. I just about wore myself out going to 3 stores (Sam’s Club, Aldi and Winco). Had to load & unload everything myself (That boy has me spoiled by helping me with that and he was in school and at work in the afternoon so couldn’t go with me). I’m glad I got that out of the way because this morning they were showing photos of one of the local Sam’s Clubs with most of the bread sold out on almost all of their huge racks, someone else took a photo of the egg section and they had sold out of those too. I got more fruit & veggies than the refrigerator could hold. But I had purchased a very large clear covered bin on clearance at Aldi last week. Put it in the garage on top of the chest freezer and put the things that would keep well out there in it. It’s really chilly out there so even if the power goes out everything will keep well there. I need to round up the portable LED lights and flashlights, the propane cooker (one burner) and the bottles of propane and other such things. Will do some laundry today and keep it caught up in case of power outages. I imagine school will be called off tomorrow, they are now giving sleet & ice all day tomorrow and the snow is supposed to start Sunday at noon and last for about 24 hours and be very heavy when it starts.

My joints are starting to swell up as the storm is approaching and I feel very unproductive. Need to get up in a bit and start my chores. Boo-Boo is already telling me he needs his Romaine (I cleaned their cages yesterday morning and gave them Romaine before I left. Boo-Boo is a creature of habit).

@cherokeepatti I KNEW you would do a great job prepping for this storm...I'm just sorry that all the shopping and lugging put such a hurt on you.

I am in the same boat. Today was food pantry day, and I loaded up my car with food for all my neighbors, and had to lug all the heavy BAGS in. LOTS of lugging. And more in my future. I have to take food over to Tom's house this afternoon..

@4meAndyou Pulled my back a bit hauling the stuff inside. Feel better now. How’s the weather where you live?
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti It's beautiful out today. No wind...just normal winter cold and lots of sun. They say that tomorrow the temperature is going to plummet to 15*, and it will snow on Sunday and Monday.

I pulled my back, too...we are twinsies!!! 🤣🤣🤣

@4meAndyou I should have taken some CLA, I have a bottle of it, but was too tired from unloading everything & putting it up and making dinner (rotisserie chicken helped a lot with that) and cleaning up afterwards I forgot about the CLA. CLA will heal a pulled muscle quickly.

@cherokeepatti You know about stuff I've never even HEARD of!!! ☺
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@4meAndyou I’ve been using that for decades. Saw it at a health food store here and it was in the weight training supplement shelves. The owner of that store would talk about certain things when he’d notice a customer browsing and that helped. Then read about it and got it. It’s also really good to take regularly if you don’t eat grass or pasture fed meat or eggs or dairy or wild game. It helps to build muscles so it is less likely to pull muscles unless you lift wrong or something very heavy. Those meats have a lot of CLA, which is probably why we never got pulled muscles on the farm. I never got pulled muscles till it was hard to find grass fed beef after we left the farm.

@cherokeepatti I'm going to price it.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti It's a pill, right?
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@4meAndyou A capsule or gel cap.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti How many mg do you take?
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@4meAndyou I bought the high dose ones but have taken lower doses and they were effective too, but usually just take one at a time and not 3 at once like it says. Can take one at the first sign of a pulled muscle and take another before bedtime. Your body is better suited at healing muscles while you are sleeping. Usually wake up with no pain. Could take another one if there is still some pain. I have never had to take more than 3 for a pulled muscle. If you want you can take them every day to help build up your muscles to keep them from getting pulled. I am also buying some grass-fed beef when I can find it and pasture-raised eggs. Haven’t been eating many eggs lately though.
You don’t have to buy this brand, I have bought lower dosages and less expensive. Thought this would last us for a good while is why I bought it. Sometimes the boy picks up something and gets a pulled muscle so he takes it when that happens.

This bottle is $19.99 on Amazon, it would last a long time and I thought it was worth it.

@cherokeepatti So, I did a little research while I was waiting to hear back, and it turns out that one of the side effects of this supplement is stomach pain. It pulls all the water from your body and puts them into your stools, which can cause cramping and watery stools. What I read was to start taking it at the lowest possible dose, which seems to be 800 mg, until your body gets used to it.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@4meAndyou I never had a problem with it but it would be good to eat something with it too. If you eat the pasture or grass fed meats, eggs and dairies you wouldn’t have those side effects due to it being in food and not isolated on an empty stomach.

@cherokeepatti I was just worried about its effects on my ulcers...so I concentrated my research on that aspect of the supplement. I've ordered it in the 800 mg, and I will begin to take it every day to get my body used to it, before trying 1000 mg...and work my way up.
