They are generally accurate to a fair degree.

I live not far from an exposed coast so the Shipping Forecast gives a good overall pattern of wind velocities (direction and speed) and their changes, precipitation and visibility. Not temperature though, normally irrelevant for maritime purposes.

Inland, the forecast for a wide area (1000s of square miles) can differ somewhat from what happens locally (100s sq. miles), partly by the effects of hills, but also because normal weather systems are hundreds of miles in diameter and contain a lot of turbulence, fronts, and temperature and humidity variations.

I get them from 3 websites, they are all from the Weather Channel and they all have diferent information, probably because of different locations. I don't trust any of them. I also get yesterday's high temperature from TimeandDate. I can tell you the high temperature in Denver for every day since 2008!

Terrible. I live on the East Coast, the mid Atlantic region and they couldn't predict Christmas on December 25th.

Very, they're spot on everytime, and now for the local weather......one moment please while I look out the window.
They seem not to be produced by people who made it further than fourth grade in weather school.

It is more of a weather guess than a report. Where I live in the mountains, the weather is usually almost like their guesses but sooner or later than their guesses.

When they guess it will snow beginning at 4 pm, rarely are they right. It might snow at 2 pm or yesterday or not until day after tomorrow. Or not at all.
In the summer it’s probably nearly always a few degrees warmer than average but the weather conditions forecast are usually accurate.

Last two years not

I get more accurate doing it the old fashion way. Animal fat in alcohol in a mason jar and watch how sinks and raises in the jar.
We have none. A YouTube guy is pretty good, the apps can leave you in big danger without warning.

Usually in the ballpark, though i remember one time it pouring rain and not a thing on the radar😕
But i guess thats not the weather guys fault
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
Pretty good, about 90%of the time.

But maybe once or twice a month, a sudden storm or cold snap appears, that they had no clue about one or two days in advance.

@Thinkerbell

The coldsnaps happen when Hillary spreads her legs! 🥶
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
I only trust our local news for the weather. They are that good
smiler2012 · 61-69

Thevy29 · 41-45, M

YoMomma ·
They're ok
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
OK for now.

But who knows what will happen after the NOAA cuts.

Maybe they will be replaced by ROBOTS
swirlie · 31-35
The most accurate weather forecast you can get involves opening your window blinds and looking outside.

What you see happening in the sky will take approximately 6 hours to change, which means what you see is what you'll get for the next 6 hours. The End.
