yes, but it's easy to overdo. it's the principle behind nuclear winter and why we had no summer in ... the.. 1600s? something like that. hard to keep dense enough cloud cover confined to just the ocean areas.

There are more clouds over the ocean. The vast majority of rain is evaporated sea water.

@WintaTheAngle light still gets through though. If you doubled the density there might be no light for the ocean to absorb.

actually the smog from ships did this protecting the glaciers...then they cleaned up the oil\fuel they burn. the glaciers began breaking up at much faster pace.
I guess in the covered areas anyway to whatever degree
