Are we in a serious war?

I've been watching the news some but I want a clear understanding on what is going on with this war. What does this mean for us? Are we in danger?

Terrorism was always a factor here in the USA. It's only become far more likely now. And not just in the USA, yet throughout the world.

Not right now, but when Iran retaliates, and they will retaliate, it is a little worrying to think about what Trump will decide to do next. I mean, this is the guy that sent Marines into a US city over some damaged cars.
It'll be what they euphemistically call "asymmetric warfare." Iran is far weaker militarily than the US, so they won't be sending soldiers to fight toe-to-toe. Instead, Iran will be looking to attack soft targets like oil tankers and soldiers near military bases.

It's much more expensive for us to defend all our soft targets around the world than it is for Iran to attack them; that's how asymmetric warfare works.
@ElwoodBlues "they" won't be ccommunicating anything they lost power, stuck in a stalemate with the fractured psyche of the leader

It will result in more frustrated youth who will want to resort to terrorism to vent their frustration. And then America will say they are wronged and occupy Iran like it did Afghanistan for 20 years before handing back to the same Taliban. 🙄

Apparently it means that Trump wants to make America great again 😒

@Loretta78 😣

War has not been declared.
JSul3 · 70-79
@EarthGirl Iran will.
@EarthGirl SIX 30,000 pound bombs make a pretty strong declaration.
No that automated system is locked for choosing the wrong goal
The system is in peril, it's been found guilty

We were never in any war. Basically, the towelheads in Iraq just lost their nuclear weapons labs.

They WERE going to launch against Israel and the US. (Or did anyone forget all those chants of DEATH TO AMERICA?)

Iran HAD fissionable materials. It either would have been successful in creating an atomic bomb, which means it would have launched against Israel and the global nuclear war would have rendered earth only habitable for cockroaches. Or those towelheads would have allowed a chain reaction to get out of control. It would have hit ground water and spewed deadly radioactive gasses all over the countryside, killing half the population instantly, while the other half died of cancer a year later.

Basically, PRESIDENT TRUMP saved the world from nuclear annihilation. Alternatively, he saved most of the population of Iran from a disaster.
@Reason10 tRump's massive blunder seven years ago led us directly to this dangerous shooting war in the Middle East.

tRump blew up Obama's Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, then reinstated U.S. sanctions on Iran. Iran had kept their word until tRump broke the deal.
https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/president-donald-j-trump-ending-united-states-participation-unacceptable-iran-deal/

tRump did this in May 2018, and without the deal in place, Iran limited inspections and began digging deeper bunkers and enriching U235. tRump never made an alternate deal, and Iran has been enriching U235 deep under a mountain for the last seven years.

Dr Ernest J. Moniz, former MIT nuclear physics professor, Belfer Center senior fellow; CEO of the Nuclear Threat Initiative; former U.S. secretary of Energy, and lead technical negotiator of the Iran nuclear deal, released this statement soon after tRump blew up the JCPOA.
President Trump’s decision today to withdraw from the Iranian nuclear deal is a major strategic mistake that not only damages the United States’ ability to prevent Iran from acquiring the material for a nuclear weapon, but also impairs our ability to prevent the spread and use of nuclear weapons, to work with allies and partners on issues of global concern, and to protect our interests in the Middle East for years, if not decades, to come. The Iran nuclear deal rolled back Iran’s nuclear program and imposed uniquely stringent monitoring and verification measures — the most important elements of which were permanent — to prevent the country from ever developing a bomb. The United States is now in violation of the terms of the deal without offering a credible alternative. The Iran deal is and has always been about depriving Iran of the nuclear materials — highly enriched uranium and plutonium — needed to make a weapon. As international inspectors, who have been on the ground every day since the deal was concluded, have confirmed: The Iran agreement has accomplished this. The fact that the advice of this nation’s most-important allies was ignored in this decision adds to the consequence of the president’s decision. Remaining in the agreement was very clearly in the U.S. national interest. It’s hard to predict what will unfold from here, but the president has driven a deep wedge between the United States and our allies in Europe and has withdrawn from the process that would allow a comprehensive investigation of the Iran archives recently revealed by Israel.

@ElwoodBlues WRONG. Obama financed Iran's nuclear program with American tax dollars.
@Reason10 says
Obama financed Iran's nuclear program with American tax dollars.
How did that work, exactly? Did Congress allocate that spending??

And what about the 4000 enrichment centrifuges Iran had during the Bush admin?? Are you blaming that on Obama too??

You realize (oh, wait, no you don't) that Iran's first nuclear reactor (research sized) came to them thru the Eisenhower Atoms for Peace program. And then Nixon & Ford helped Iran start on their first power generating reactor.

So explain to us how Obama caused all that🤣😂😝🤣😂
