Are we in a serious war?

I've been watching the news some but I want a clear understanding on what is going on with this war. What does this mean for us? Are we in danger?

It will result in more frustrated youth who will want to resort to terrorism to vent their frustration. And then America will say they are wronged and occupy Iran like it did Afghanistan for 20 years before handing back to the same Taliban. 🙄
