Do you drive the car you have most wanted, or only what you could afford at the time you bought it?

I used to borrow my parents' car, often, but then they helped me buy the car I liked most, at the local car showroom.
I have a Peugeot 3008, it's a 2022 model, my husband bought it for me, it proves he's a good person who looks after his wife
@Jimmy2016 you obviously don't pay attention to my posts
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@AbsolutelyFabulous Here and there, I think,..........I'll try better in the future..........
@Jimmy2016 Hahaha, thank you

I wanted Chevy pickup, and I've been driving it for 22 years. we are happy together.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I drive what we could afford

2017 Skoda Octavia - owned by Volkswagen

Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@nedkelly It is a very nice looking car. 🙂
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@Musicman I see you car, very nice
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@nedkelly These are immortal. Still pretty good after 20 years. I see them all around.
meggie · F
I like my old 2007 car, but it's time to get rid of it as it's hardly driven.
I'm not bothered to.be honest ..
I'm just glad I have a car
Kiesel · 56-60, M
Fortunately, I am driving what I love and wanted
redredred · M
I have a 23 year-old Audi TT convertible that I only drive in good weather. It’s very nearly the car I’ve always wanted.
AngelUnforgiven · 46-50, F
Truthfully as an adult i dont have a "favorite car" but i did want an SUV and thats what i drive now
Lilymoon · F
I drive a Mazda. If I had my way I'd drive a Porsche 911. Lmao
InMyPrime · 51-55, M
I’d love to have a Porsche but drive a VW which I love. I am awaiting delivery of Rivian. Am cited for that
EHLinnea · 22-25, F
@InMyPrime I see, but not telling the public affects confidence and ultimately sales.
InMyPrime · 51-55, M
@EHLinnea They can’t make them fast enough. I have more than a year’s wait before they deliver mine
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@EHLinnea ICE car fires are so common that they don't get reported in the media.
1490wayb · 56-60, M
both...a 2003 toyota corolla with 230,000 miles. bought it with 3000 miles on it and saved many thousands over a brand new car with 0 mileage. has the MOST comfortable seat ive ever sat in. easy to park anywhere.
Elessar · 26-30, M
I never "dreamt" of cars. For me it's four wheels that being me to work when the weather doesn't allow me to walk or cycle, nothing more, nothing less lol
pdockal · 56-60, M
compromised untill I retire
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@pdockal Outstanding! Shows how good of a job you do maintaining your vehicles. So what would you like when you retire?
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Musicman

IDK but probably an SUV
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@pdockal I really like the Lincoln Navigator. 🙂
Mongo · M
I have the car I most wanted from the list of what is affordable. It's a nice car but it's no Aston Martin!
Fairydust · F
I really never cared about cars or what make, as long as I can get to work I’m not really bothered.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔.......I just need a good reliable SUV to get me from point A to point B...........Low maintenance and built well.........
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
Fairly close to the one I most wanted.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@ninalanyon So what car would you like the most?
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Musicman A Tesla Model X Long Range with all the self driving stuff. What I have is a 2015 Model S 70D which has much shorter range but has free Tesla Supercharging so the fact that it only has a bit over half the range of the Model X Long Range is not a problem..
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
My purchases were always largely determined by cost.
greensnacks · 31-35, F
I don't own a car yet
InMyPrime · 51-55, M
@greensnacks Horses gallop. They don’t need cars :p
greensnacks · 31-35, F
@InMyPrime true. I bet the horse could use a break every once in a while too
drive what we can afford. they get us where we're going and are reliable
I've owned majority of cars I wanted over my lifetime.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
I actually have no idea what car I want the most. We have a Lincoln MKX and that is the car best suited for our needs.

LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@Musicman Very nice rig.
The reason I asked is that some vehicles can disconnect the drivetrain with your key. Theres a small keyhole in the console. I just learned this recently.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@LunarOrbit I had no idea. And thank you very much 🙂 Of course when you go to unhook the car when you get to your destination make sure you start it and put it in park first. I almost learned this lesson the hard way. Lol!!!
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
@Musicman I can imagine what a surprise that would be. We’ve all had them one way or another. Enjoy and safe travels
