Do you drive the car you have most wanted, or only what you could afford at the time you bought it?

I used to borrow my parents' car, often, but then they helped me buy the car I liked most, at the local car showroom.

I’d love to have a Porsche but drive a VW which I love. I am awaiting delivery of Rivian. Am cited for that
EHLinnea · 22-25, F
@PrimeTime I don't know what a Rivian is

@EHLinnea It’s an EV, a Tesla competitor. They make SUVs and trucks.

@PrimeTime Oh, I have seen stories about EV's spontaneously erupting in flames. I think there's lots of work to be done to make them safer than they are.

@EHLinnea EVs have software to monitor thermal runaway. Li-Ion fires are usually due to battery defects and bad chargers, both less an issue for EVs

@PrimeTime I see, but not telling the public affects confidence and ultimately sales.

@EHLinnea They can’t make them fast enough. I have more than a year’s wait before they deliver mine

@EHLinnea ICE car fires are so common that they don't get reported in the media.
