My hood wont pop open

Have someone bump the hood while you pull the cable.

Yeah, oftentimes there is a trick some other lever you need to push... it depends on your car, I would put the model and year in YouTube or google it and see what the trick is.

I've heard there are less than 5, so people that deal with cars often know them, I'm not one of them.

The latch is worn , there are guide or hood stops that are out of adjustment. Have someone hold the latch in the car open and in the centre of tge hood where the latch would directly be below , give it a solid hit . Try not to go savage and dint the hood . It will pop . One open lube up latch but also look to see if you need to adjust hood pins . Usually one turn down . Or up will correct the problem. Sometimes you gotta rebend the catch

Try having someone pull on the hood while you pull the latch next time it happens.

& If there's nobody with you, use something an inch or two in size, to wedge it under your hood nice & tight, then pull the latch

The cable may be stuck or broken. You'll likely need to take it to a mechanic.

Look in the grille at the front with a torch - do you see a thin cable that looks like the brake cable for a bicycle???

Tried WD-40? Then pop it.

It needs oil.
Mine opened and wouldn't re-latch when I tried to close it.

Just answered you in the other thread. Push down on the very end of the hood by the latch
