What's the best car you've ever owned?

Top | New | Old
my ex and I had a 63 matching numbers Stingray. in our divorce I signed it over to him for a greater equity stake in the house
@Sevendays I settled for a 70/30 split on the house. we both ended up happy. he knew if I got the car I'd have set it on fire just for spite

Hmmm, hard to pick just one, but I'll go with my 1973 Chevrolet El Camino SS.

!999m ford crown vic patrol car bought it in 2005 and with 105000 miles now has 265000 in all that time spent maybe 1200.00 in repairs
olderuncle944 · 70-79, M
@thisgenericnamehere My son now drives it every day we hope it goes 300000 miles

@olderuncle944
My grandfather has a `99 Crown Vic. Did you know that you can no longer get an alternator for that car if it needs one? You have to rebuild what you've got at an auto electric specialty shop.
olderuncle944 · 70-79, M
@swirlie @swirlie I worked for auto zone there available there the same one on seversl ford models the patrol car was high out put but a regular one wiould work fine
ArtieKat · M

Some of my staff at the time decorated it for Christmas. 🤗

My 2011 Toyota Camry ... 150K miles and still runs great
rfatoday · 61-69, M
1975 Mercedes 240D I bought used in 1981 with 17,000 miles. The original clutch lasted 140,000 miles and the motor 300,000. All I did was change the oil and I think some other minor repairs. It was slow and spartan. But rock solid and reliable.
Interesting question. I'll answer it this way - I'd've liked to've owned my 1959 Porsche 356 when it was brand new and not the worn out heap I paid $900 for in 1971.

Like this one -

A 1999 Saturn sc2. It's also the only car I've ever owned
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@thisgenericnamehere there it is, sitting outside. It's a good car, I'm proud of it
SW-User
@caPnAhab It looks so well kept l!
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@SW-User the previous owner kept it very nice
Sevendays · M
Tough question to answer. I've had vehicles that are super comfortable for long trips. I've bought cars as investments that paid off. I've had fast, fun cars. They've been the best cars but in different ways
Sevendays · M
@Musicman The MKX is really nice too. I rented one last year when I was in Siesta Key
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@Sevendays We really like ours and it is flat towable behind the motorhome. 🙂🙂🙂
Sevendays · M
@Musicman win/win
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
I half miss my ‘70 Chevelle, definitely miss my ‘94 Stealth, but I don’t think I’d give up my ‘24 Venza for anything I used to own.
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
My 1971 Bronco I had in high school. It never left me stranded and we went on many epic adventures! Never should have sold it…

'90 Ford Thunderbird....143k miles.
'01 GMC Sierra....over 250k miles.
'18 VW Passat....currently 34k and counting.

Barring an accident or a major recall by the manufacturer, you will be able to keep your vehicle running well by doing 2 things:
1. Above anything else, change the oil and filter as suggested by the owner's manual. This will keep the engine in top shape.
2. Preventive maintenance. Read the owner's manual. There is a reason.
My 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4x2 prerunner. Still have it. Still drive it . 309,000 and still runs great.

Don't you have the best memories of your very first car? I bought a 9-month-old VW Polo diesel with 48 hp. As a student, I actually had a pretty good car.
Elessar · 26-30, M
2002 Lancia Y

I could run over bumps at 170km/h, have a little flight, and it wouldn't care in the slightest

If I take a road bump at more than 30km/h with my current one I'd probably lose a wheel lmao
Everyone of them was paid off when they were paid off.
My current one. A 1994 Honda Accord - 5-speed.
