What was your very first car?

I had a 1999 Toyota Camry LE from 2016-2021.

She was still running great when I decided to sell her to an auto wrecker after the catalytic converter was stolen.

Don’t get excited, it was a 4 door 😂

@Zaphod42 It would be cool to find one of those, put some nice rims on it, and drop a big block into that bad boy.
@Zaphod42 A white 1979 two door Ford LTD with a burgundy Landau top, and a big block V8 that pinned you to the seat by barely tapping the gas pedal.

@Tetsuya That was the car I got my first ticket in. Wrote up for 79 in a 55. I told the cop this car
can't do 80 if you throw it off a cliff.
Tetsuya · 56-60, M
@LoneVoice you're not wrong, you would need one of the V8 dusters to get past 80

Depending on how we define "first car";
first car I drove (when I was 11): 1914 Mercer Raceabout
first car I was given (chosen, bought and paid for by my parents): Volvo 960 sedan
first car I bought (chose & paid for): Hemi Charger

@JesseInTX my wife was once hit head on by a car coming out of the fog on the wrong side of the road. The two 18 years olds in the other car were killed in the impact. The car was later proven to be unroadworthy and the boys had been seen messing about. I took my wife to the Coroner's Inquest. It was extremely unpleasant experience. such a sad waste of life.
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@Jacko1971 luckily I only had minor injuries. Broken nose from the airbag, some whiplash and a cut on my leg. I know the asshat was transported after being cut out of his truck. He got 5 years for intoxication assault.
Jacko1971 · 51-55, M
@JesseInTX my wife was black and blue. She has permanent scarring where the seatbelt cut into her. At least that did its job properly. Thankfully for her she was in a stronger, heavier, better made car than the one that hit her.

1979 Mercury Cougar. It had cruise control which was huge in 1979. It had a 312 engine and turned an insert two weeks after I bought it.

@Lilnonames My late Fiancee's younger son had one of those, he did a tranny drop at 35mph on a city road in Delaware, caught it on fire. He did the same to a 1989 Ford Taurus, also in Delaware, and my 1995 Buick LaCrosse, which he did on the I-515 in Las Vegas going 65mph, I was not happy.
