Would you go to breakfast in a hotel in pajamas and dressing gown?

If you were staying in a hotel like travelodge where they serve breakfast between 6 and 9 am would you go to the breakfast hall in your pajamas and dressing gown and slippers?

Update:
"When I brought this to the management's attention, I was told that as long as they were dressed it was OK."
SW-User
Absolutely no, I'd get breakfast by room service if I was too tired to get dressed
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@saragoodtimes makes no difference to me. I've stayed in hotels like that abroad and people went to the lobby and breakfast hall in pyjamas, only to return to their room to wash and change in to their swim wear and clothes for the day.
SW-User
@Mellowgirl I only stay at 5* places tbh
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@SW-User ahh OK. Staying one night for my grandparents anniversary seemed over the top to spend so much
Spica · 31-35, F
Hell no. That's kinda trashy.
Spica · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl Same, same. You seem to have taken offense for no reason 🤔
chrisCA · M
@Spica Too many people nowadays, don't take much pride in their appearance.

Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@saragoodtimes I guess I'm common then

Hotel, no.
Walmart, mandatory?
Nimbus · M
@smiler2012 There's always an exception ;)
smiler2012 · 56-60
@Nimbus of couse nimby 😆 of course
Azlotto · M
@Nimbus 😅🤣
meggie · F
No only common people do that.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@meggie I guess I'm common then.
cecile · F
No never i just think its lazy , i would never pick my kids up or drop them off at school like that either like so many do
cecile · F
@BalmyNites i think its lazy and a bit disrespectful to the kids being dropped off by parents too lazy to get up and shower before going out like that , imagine having to walk home like that shame it wasn't raining lol
BalmyNites · F
@cecile Have to say, I did laugh lol 😂

Tbf, she’s not lazy or disrespectful though - she was just a single parent struggling to get 3 kids up & out by 8.30am after her husband ran off with another bint
cecile · F
@BalmyNites lol well i sleep naked most of the time so i would have to get up earlier and get ready before the kids no matter what
Tobasco · 31-35, F
Tobasco · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl I wouldn't get dressed for an event too early but I also wouldn't stay in my pjs
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Tobasco fair enough. So you'd put back on the clothes you wore the day before, if you hadn't packed clothes for another day?
Because its a one night stay?
Tobasco · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl I'd make sure I have enough clothes
Adamski24 · 41-45, M
No of course not but then I wouldn't stay at such a low-class establishment.
I have standards
@Mellowgirl if you settle for less than the best you'll never have the best
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@saragoodtimes who said I'm settling for less. I'm not allowing others to dictate how I lead my life. Big difference
@Mellowgirl live your life in any way that makes you happy. I do
No. I wouldn’t stay in pajamas unless I was having breakfast sent up to my private room.
summersong · F
In pajamas if they could pass for regular clothes. I’m casual but not that casual 😆
BalmyNites · F
No, because I never wear pyjamas 😁
SW-User
@BalmyNites lol you’d just go to breakfast in the nude…thats next level confidence 😉
BalmyNites · F
@SW-User Sophie! 🤣🤣🤣
No I would not. I would wear decent or casual clothes but no PJ's.
roseebee · 31-35, F
Lol I did with my jammies on!Never really cared hahaha
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
No, that would make me feel unprepared and a bit uncomfortable.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Jenny1234 who taught me it wasn't?
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Mellowgirl wolves?
@Jenny1234 There’s a difference between a hotel restaurant and the hotel offering breakfast. Don’t place them in the same categories. I’ve been to hotels that offer both 🙄. Restaurant hotel or not I wouldn’t go in my pajamas, but I would go get some food from the lobby in my pajamas. It’s no different than walking down the hall way later in the night to get some ice from the ice machine. I’m not going to change for that. 😂
SW-User
Hell yeah, why not. If I wake up a little late, and breakfast is running out, then I’ll just head down there in my pajamas to grab some snacks and head back to my room. 😅
SW-User
I wouldn't go out to the mailbox like that
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@SW-User you wouldn't go to your mail box in your pyjamas and dressing gown. Outside our own home. Wtf!
SW-User
@Mellowgirl it's for schlepps
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I would at least put my bra on. I need coffee.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@Keepitsimple Didn’t you just post a gif of yourself running for coffee at the hotel breakfast buffet? 😂
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
No I’m in the corner wearing my sunglasses chowing down.@Harmonium1923
Pretzel · 61-69, M
well...not again..no

not after the talking to the staff gave me
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Pretzel where was this please?
Midnightoker1 · 61-69, M
There was a time when wearing your pyjamas outside meant your house was on fire...
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
Not me. I always dress as if I’m going somewhere better afterwards.
zorroo · 56-60, M
Pajamas are for the bedroom only and that in winter too.
mikeylyksit · 41-45, M
Absolutely not. I would get dressed.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@mikeylyksit haha really why?
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
personally no, but I wouldn't judge anyone else for doing it. it is not a restaurant where you need to get dressed to go to. its literally in a hotel, where people sleep, and wake up for breakfast.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@HellsBelle feel the same way.
Lol, yeah I’ve done it before 😴. Sometimes they have breakfast too early for me so I get the food, and go back up to the room.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Stark same. 6 til 9 wtf! On a weekend! Ugh!
Sandra42 · 41-45, F
No but I've gone out in the hall way to get ice in my lingerie a few times.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Sandra42 do as you want. So long as your not hurting anyone
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Jenny1234 but that's food shopping. I just wouldn't do that as I have to leave the building to go out in the street, either to get a bus taxi or drive there.
I would get washed and dressed after having had my breakfast in the lobby in my pyjamas.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Mellowgirl it’s gross. Please stop doing it
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Jenny1234 unfortunately you saying this won't stop me since you don't have any control over me. There are no dress code rules at travelodge or Premier Inn so I shall do as I feel fit to do.
Thank you for responding.
SW-User
No…I’d want to lol but I’d get dressed
I don't even wear my pjs out of my bedroom
nedkelly · 61-69, M
NO, no need to explain at all
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
tallpowerhouseblonde · 31-35, F
No way.I have had breakfast wearing a bikini when I'm on holiday in hot weather.There was a phase of women doing their grocery shopping wearing their pyjamas.Some stores introduced the policy of asking them to leave.
LadyJ · F
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Peterbyres2022matureuk whys that then?
Azlotto · M
No. I don't even go outside in my Elmo pajamas.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
No
Nope.

I'd at least throw on a T-shirt and shorts.

OTOH...I wouldn't bring up the way others are dressed. It is none of my concern.
Some women go to walmart wearing moo-moos and what's left of their hair in curlers.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@MarmeeMarch is that a hotel?
I’d rather not. I usually only go for breakfast after I shower and am ready to leave the hotel.
I don't go to those. My husband and son always did while I was showering.
4meAndyou · F
SOME pajamas and dressing gowns are acceptable:

Others are not:

Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@4meAndyou Well my pyjamas are satin 😁
Fishy · 31-35, F
Sure, why not?
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Fishy I'm not sure of the etiquette. I remember going to a hotel in Plymouth with an ex years ago and everyone was up and dressed, we sat in the middle as it was the only table left. They probably stared because we were the only people of colour me black and he Asian. So probably a double surprise.
First time I ever felt black.

When I was in Spain last year my sleep wear was a little too revealing to go to the lobby like that especially as it was too hot for a dressing gown
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Mellowgirl bothered by you wearing pajamas? I couldn’t imagine being so fragile. 🤣
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@DeluxedEdition I know right.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
Yup. Others do it too 😂🤭
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@DeluxedEdition lol yea they do,most people are tired at 6am and get up simply to eat.
Fluffybull · F
No. Lazy and sloppy.
SarahTheHooker · 26-30, F
I have done..

Sarah 💋
pdockal · 56-60, M
Can't as I sleep naked
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl Actually the places I stay kind of expect guests to be clean and wear nice casual dress. I can eat in jammies at home. And for me its about respect of others.
Crusher69 · 61-69, M
I wouldn't - no. But I wouldn't complain if you did 😇
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Crusher69 really? Why is it a thing? I have an event at around 11am so if I wake up my usual time I'm not going to want to wear my dress
Crusher69 · 61-69, M
@Mellowgirl Just that most of you ladies look pretty sexy in nightwear. So - maybe it a thing, I don't know lol. But yes - it does make sense for you to rather stay in your sleepwear until you are ready to get into your dress..
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Crusher69 tbh i don't think I care enough to get changed into clothes. Generally I tend to wear things like this
