How.many of u people here eat eggs ? 🤔 🥚 🍳 🍳

I was watching the news today. 📰
And I have learned that the price of eggs
right now in the US is from 6-8
dollars per dozen. Are you serious ?🙄
I mean I do like eggs, but not that damn much!
I can live without them. 😂
Gee whiz. What do you think about this my fellow SW peeps. Best answer will win. . Got any eggs in your fridge . Scramble mines ok. 🤭 🍳

I eat eggs everyday. Fresh eggs from the farm are 10 bucks a flat for 2 1/2 dozen. That being said...flats used to be 3 bucks. It's getting crazy.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@Thereyouare That is true. No matter what you get nailed with higher prices.
Thereyouare · 61-69, M
@ravenwind43 And right now it seems like it's everything
Our economy is in trouble I'm just not sure how many people realize it
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@Thereyouare I agree with you 100%

even at $6 dollars a dozen thats only 50 cents per egg. still a good value. eggs are very nutritious and filling
Penny · 46-50, F
@Thereyouare chickens arent cheap to keep/raise too.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Penny That's expensive.
I could have bought a dozen of eggs from the Dollar Tree a year ago for just $1.
Penny · 46-50, F
@Zonuss yes, but the way i see it we were just getting them super cheap before. i mean compared to a dollar each for one vegetarian sausage patty its still a good value in my book. anyway, its because of the bird flu. they should go back down eventually.
JustNik · 51-55, F
I tend to go in phases and right now am not eating as many. I use them in other things though and noticed all of a sudden they got a bit difficult to find here. I’m getting used to understanding availability is no longer the given it used to be.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
I do eat eggs, every other day. Omelette usually or as egg and cheese on English muffin. Here they are 4.50 a dozen, roughly. But to go UP??? Yikessss. Is it because there is a bird flu?
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Baybreeze Who knows.🙂
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I use them a lot as I don't buy a lot of processed stuff.
It's crazy how much they cost

Zonuss · 46-50, M
@TheWildEcho That's a good investment. You might wanna buy some cows while you are at it. ☺️
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M

My local supermarkets are showing prices as:

3. Large Grade A Eggs, 12 each $5.79

5. Large White Eggs $5.09 per dozen.

The descriptions are just as listed on the stores' websites.

This past Sunday, I bought one dozen "cage free" eggs from a grocery store for $4.49.

I don't usually worry about eggs being cage free, but these had the lowest price of the various kinds being sold.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@DrWatson I see. Isn't it funny that the Dollar Tree stopped selling eggs. ☺️
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Just bought an 18 pak of large eggs at Walmart for 6.18
FlowersInHerHair · 56-60, F
We eat them. Haven't had to buy them in years though. Gave ours hens away last summer because they quit laying; but, get eggs from friends right now. They are actually incubating some for us and we should have more next month. 🙂 LOVE me some fresh eggs!!!
Nope.
$7.59 for two dozen organic eggs just Saturday (21 Jan 2023) here, at Costco.

So about $3.80/doz *organic* eggs.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
It's mostly because of the bird flue in chickens. It's spreading nation wide.

smileylovesgaming · 31-35, FVIP
@Zonuss oh yes we share the eggs with our neighbors
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
Price gouging!

I still eat eggs regularly.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@OverTheHill I believe this too.
It's a way of saying we paid you those stimulus checks. Now it's time to give us what you owe.
Ferric67 · M
Who woke the chickens?
Zonuss · 46-50, M
