What is your goal in life?

ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Still figuring it out :)
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@Nelladell I'm sure I do. Life is what happens when you're busy making plans.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@ravenwind43 Very often very true, I think.
Heartlander · 80-89, M

No goals. I'm just sailing wherever the waves take me.

@Darksideinthenight2 Seems there is good company to be found almost anywhere.
@SW-User If you don't makes goals you will end up being fat and with three kids. 😐
StarLily · 51-55, F
To live to my fullest potential.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@StarLily Wonderful goal. Do you have a recipe for gaining the ability to do that?
StarLily · 51-55, F
@Nelladell Focusing on the present.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@StarLily Sounds powerful. Thank you.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
Not to waste the gifts I have received in my life.
Most folks think a good man,,good marriage is a fable..I use to think the same..that is wrong. For my good man, I care for him the best I can. For the land we own, we care and love our slice of Heaven. We work and improve it the best we can. I guess my goals as I said... count my blessings and honor them and utilize them the best I can. Simple pleasures of life ❤✌
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@ShadowWorker I love seeing your gratitude. Thanks for this.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@Nelladell good morning. 😊 thanks!
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@ShadowWorker Hello. You are welcome.
For my children not to accept welfare. Is truly my life's goal, it destroyed their mother's.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@checkoutanytime Good for you.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
To be gone at an early age. I hope I fade away in my 30's lol
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Carazaa Maybe.

Thank you for being nice to me here. It means a lot to me and I'm grateful for that.
Carazaa · F
@Beatbox34 You are a great person, please take good care of that body of yours. You can turn this around!
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Beatbox34 Am thinking of some of the wonderful things I would have missed had I not had the last 50 years. The rough and the smooth -- I am grateful for both. I can understand the desire to have the ability to opt out, though.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Still breathing tomorrow!
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@hunkalove Thanks.
Placetodream · 46-50, F
To simply be happy.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Placetodream BINGO! I mean, me, too. Isn'tndthat what all the hoo haw is about? Don't we drink as a way to search for happiness? And wear makeup in hopes it will make us happier? And start smoking so we can be cool, make friends and be happy? I vaguely remember something about the song that says we're looking in all the wrong places --
ABCDEF7 · M
This reminds me of my first post when I created my account on Experience project, more than 11 years ago. But the question was way earlier in my mind.

https://similarworlds.com/self-help/archived-questions/2448724-What-is-the-Aim-Goal-of-your-life
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@ABCDEF7 Ah. Thank you.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Nelladell I am not able to think beyond what Swami Vivekananda said when someone asked him the same question.

"First to gain the knowledge and then help the world with that knowledge."
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@ABCDEF7 Can't help but love Vivekananda.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I’m well past having goals, and dreams. Even though I have nothing to look forward to, I suppose the end of the pandemic would be a start. At least I could go out again.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Carissimi Well, shucks.
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
Improving oneself is always a wise investment, but I no longer set goals. I think it's best to live moment to moment. Life is ever changing and we should learn to change with it. Goals don't allow flexibility and can lead to disappointments. I see that happening with people around me; always struggling to reach that new goal instead of naturally blossoming.🌷

Just my $0.02😉
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@MoonlightLullaby I certainly see your point. I assume you would not have a problem with changing goals
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
@Nelladell That's just it ..
I no longer make resolutions, set goals or dream for a particular type of life. I haven't any spoteniaty or a lot of flexibility due to certain circumstances. I just live day to day and try to give life the best chance I can.💪
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@MoonlightLullaby I am grateful to have heard it said that if we do the very best we can -- that's perfection.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Stuck with Covid - supporting my kids and grandkids that is all I need
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@nedkelly Fulfilling your role as a family man? I applaud you. I truly do. Thanks for replying.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@nedkelly Yep. Back to picking the little petrie dishes up from school again as of next week. Of course they are vaqxxed now.😷
Wiseacre · F
Stay alive the next few years!
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Wiseacre Thanks for that. I don't know your age -- are you saying that because of your age or because of current events?
Wiseacre · F
Maybe both...life has become ugly!@Nelladell
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Wiseacre I am sorry. I am. I wish you the best.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
To get through it with as few regrets as possible.😷
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@whowasthatmaskedman Sounds laudable.

@Max13 I take that as an offer to visit with you if I should feel lonely. Thank you. It's the kindness I have come to expect of you. And it's why I am a bit surprised to hear you say you you may not be nice. I don't know if I heard that part wrong -- at any rate, thank you. I have been alone since my husband died in 2020, but I have not yet been lonely. If I ever do get lonely, I plan to remember this conversation. Thank you again.

Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Mamapolo2016 Sounds laudable. (Are you also into "physician, heal thyself?" or any other caduceus wisdom?)

InvictusIndigo · 22-25, M
It is subject to change, but I want to find a career that fits so well with who I am that it doesn't feel like work. That or I want a job that satisfies me as well as others (but not in a weird way, ya freakies)
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@InvictusIndigo I hope you find work that you are happy in. That would be -- well, it is what I wish for you.
Peaches · F
To get back in to the exercise routine I used to have. I also don't want to be addicted to the internet.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@Peaches Good for you. I certainly wish you the best.
Peaches · F
@Nelladell Thank you❣️🤗
At this point, just surviving another day.
Although, I don't really know why.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@PhoenixPhail Bless your heart. Do you think it might be worth your time to look around inside yourself to see if you could fine the reason?
@Nelladell I still have a bit of hope that I might find someone to connect with. It's been so hard living alone, year after year.

However, with all I've learned about the death experience, there's such a great attraction to it, I keep asking myself why I don't just exit this ailing and damaged container, and move on.

I'm SO looking forward to making my transition.
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@PhoenixPhail Well, I am looking forward to it happily, also. But I am also looking forward to finding out what will happen next here. I look at my failing body and at the amazing tchings happening in the world and find it extremely excitin to see.

To live and love without calculations
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@TessDun I wonder what you do to reach that goal?
TessDun · 36-40, F
@Nelladell I don’t know exactly. Maybe by being grateful and positive and by being contented while being self-sufficient too and self-loving in a healthy way. There’s a lot ;)
Nelladell · 80-89, F
@TessDunYeah, there is. But It's more than worthwhile. Kudos.
