Is it true that rubbing a disposable razor against jeans will make it last longer? There's a post on reddit saying that it does.

I’ve heard that and think it dries any water and also helps to remove any hair stuck in the double or triple blades. Not sure if sharpens the blades. They say to extend the use of the razor blades make sure they are dried after using.

[@645510,Longpatrol] sometimes I save up to $10 while stocking up things. Has to be a good price with the coupons and something I use or I’m not buying it.

[@16806,cherokeepatti] smart move that

[@645510,Longpatrol] I have donated some of my stuff to tornado victims when they were in need so I do keep extras of things that will not expire.

Didn't realize disposable razors caused so much drama. I Thought were DISPOSABLE

[@112526,carpediem] I have used the same daisy shaver for 5 years now. They stay sharp enough for my armpits, but I would not want to do my face with it if I were a guy.

For a dollar why don’t you just go out and buy a new one?
Toepatrol · 26-30, M
[@11509,Keepitsimple] A set costs $8-$10
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F

Straight edge razor or laser hair removal which if done with a real laser not ipl can get rid of 80 of hair you will still have to shave and hair comes in patchy thin fine I k ow I did it 20 times
Toepatrol · 26-30, M

I’ve heard putting it in baby oil keeps it sharp
MrBrownstone · 41-45, M
[@645510,Longpatrol] I guess so
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
[@1149,MrBrownstone] the oil probably helps to keep the metal from deteriorating so quickly because water can help to break down the metal.

[@645510,Longpatrol] yes, it is not use that causes the blade to dull quickly, but, rather, rust. Oiling the blade (as with any blade) prolongs usefulness, but disposable razors are fairly dull to begin with so don't expect too much

Would act like a straup. Leather is used to fine sharpen razor blades to start with.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
The $2 razor won't last any longer but the $50 jeans definitely won't either!
kablan · 51-55, M

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
