But as, in most of the animal kingdom, the majority of males won't successfully mate, then we do observer males copulating with each other. But if a female in season walks by, they will fight to the death to impregnate her.

Yes there were a couple of penguins that were homosexual. They kept trying to steal the others eggs, so the zoo keepers gave them an egg and they were great parents and raised the chick as well as the others.
