Private prisons...

During the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton was the largest recipient of campaign donations from the private prison industry. Marko Rubio was the second largest.
What do you think of prisoners for profit and politicians who are in bed with them?
Gusman · 61-69, M
It is a scandal no one will address.
So many corrupt Corporate bodies have a stake in the running of, and profiting from prisons.
How often do the Corporate pigs who commit crimes get imprisoned? Almost never. They are allowed to steal from the public with impunity whilst at the same time profit from the lower classes being imprisoned for minor crimes.
Why does the US population allow this fraud to go on?
Every level of Government, every Political party condones this fraudulent behaviour through their inaction
Troy123 · 22-25, M
@Gusman It's because private prison companies like Wakenhut (sp) bought them off. The pay big bucks to keep the drug war going.
SW-User
And I bet the ice or smack trade itself could possibly fund these prison companies. @Troy123
Troy123 · 22-25, M
@SW-User It mainly the cannabis trade here in the US. That's because marijuana is 70% of "the war on drugs".

Private prisons make money for the private owner. Prisoners work for below minimum wage and usually doing something that doesnt help them with any real job skills they can use once they are released. Its forced labor.

@Gusman they say prisoners make great employees because they are rarely absent from work
Gusman · 61-69, M
@morrgin Sure. They are never late for work, they are full time employees, never miss work for family problems, no strikes. Perfect employees for their slave masters

@Gusman exactly

Well put the politicians in those prisons.....
Troy123 · 22-25, M
@Anonymartyr The only way a politician in Washington can be put in prison is if he is caught with a live boy or a dead girl.
@Troy123 That shouldn't be all that hard.
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M
I think it's great because usa is getting what it deserves
Troy123 · 22-25, M
@unknownpoetx No. That's an opinion.
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M
@Troy123 no it's not. only americans can choose their own government. it's a fact, a reality.
Troy123 · 22-25, M
@unknownpoetx The government has grown so large and so intrusive with so many government agencies and departments that can create law by Fiat, so that the citizen has literally no control over it. It is a government of nameless, faceless, unreachable and unaccountable beaurocrats (sp). And politicians who are in their positions for life who either cannot or will not do anything about it. And the politicians don't represent the people, they represent their K Street donors.

Lie... Most of the campaign contributions from the private prison industry went to Republican presidential candidates...
Troy123 · 22-25, M
@GrinNude It's not a lie. And both parties take their money.

Justice and criminal reform should not be privatized. At all.

If they are privatized, they should be forbidden from using prisoners as labor force and their payment should be based on inverse recidivism. The incentives have to be set up to reward the prison for proper reform. But as it stands, they basically just exploit labor and pick and choose their inmates to control costs.
I disagree with the concept of privatized prisons. Perhaps it’s something I would have asked Hillary about—had she become president. But you may’ve heard, she says she’s not running in 2020. Marco Rubio wouldn’t have had my vote anyway.
@Troy123 I thought Grassley stalled the CARES bill ?
Troy123 · 22-25, M
@bijouxbroussard What is the CARES bill?
@Troy123 Medical cannabis, in 2015. Actually the “CARERS Act” and Grassley stalled it because he wasn’t convicted it was in the best interests of the public. Hillary supported it, and tbf, Trump agreed with it, too. Both had previously considered cannabis a “state’s rights” issue.
