I probably can't say anything that really matters on what I love about where I am, without letting people know exactly where I live.

Not gonna do that. Not on here.

But this place is ordinary and remarkable at the same time. Fewer than 9000 people, less than 200 years old, but people pass through here from literaly every corner of the planet, and those who live here have sharp minds & big hearts. From my front door I can walk less than 6 blocks and look out facing a huge river lined with fields and farms on one side , and steep forested cliffs on the other. I can drive 20 minutes and be in wilderness foothills on the slopes of a beautiful slumbering volcano. Get on the highway and in just over an hour I'm in an international city filled with art, music, money, sex, ideas, hope, failure, drugs, food, big business, deep thinkers, and fools.

Coming back home I feel peace, possibilities, a just-right border of time and space, and the simple comfort of neighbors who can accept me even if they don't understand me, in a town where being close and minding your own damn business is still possible.

It's America. It's not bad. It's worth being here, and seeing, and believing in. Don't let any jackass political hacks on either extreme tell you it's dying, or doesn't exist.

I'm in the U.S. and because there's so many cultures in different areas there's something for everyone. But overall, our Park system is exceptional. More than a quarter of the land is government owned and accessible to anyone.

While the UK is geographically quite small there is a huge amount to see- historic cities like London and Edinburgh, national parks, a varied coast line, historic castles and battle sites and so much more 🙂🙂🙂
Elessar · 26-30, M
All of it 😜

Edinburgh and Glasgow are very different, and both worth visiting. Highlands and Islands if you prefer scenic stuff.
@SW-User would love to visit that part of the world...🙂

In the Southeast US we have so many interesting small towns with some really cool shops and restaurants, New Orleans, the Georgia Aquarium (one of the largest on Earth), the birthplace of Coca Cola, the Allman Brothers' House/Museum, Live Oaks, Jack Daniels Distillery, so many amazing local barbecue and fried chicken restaurants, Buc-ee's, The Smokies, and some very beautiful beaches that are not all in Florida.
In England, a personal choice.

City Oxford
Cathedral. Ely
Country park. Lake District
Museum. Tate Modern. London
Palace. Hampton Court
Night life. Nottingham Lace Market
Theatre. Globe. London
