yes... it is worth it for the comfort and privacy, if you can afford.
Yes....
I used to travel business class when traveling for meetings or seminars, unless there was an urgent matter and business class was full, when I flew on first class...

I have but it was a staff upgrade.. Could never afford it lol.. Nor would I.. But it was nice 🤗

Yes.. Nice wider seats and better service.. nicer food.. But not really worth the cost for the shorter flights..
First class ( which is often called business calls now ) is best when you are traveling on long distance flights.. Just having the more spacious and comfortable seating makes a huge difference if you're in a plane for 8hours + ..

I have flown business class on transpacific flights to Asia and it's worth the price there. Aside from comfort there are some other perks. So for instance if the plane leaves 3 hrs late and you will miss your stateside connections, the airline will typically arrange for a new flight while you are in the air. Regular passengers have to fend for themselves. If it's a shorter domestic flight consider economy plus seats with more leg room. For shorter trans Atlantic flights, consider economy plus on a foreign carrier because they are much better than on domestic airlines (US)

Only business class on a flight and it was pretty good. But first class on overnight sleeper train was well worth it.

Don’t do first class save your (first class) money for the trip
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
Flying is beautiful regardless 🙂@littlepuppywantanewlife
littlepuppywantanewlife · 31-35, M
@DeluxedEdition i have never been on an airplane.
Rose0415 · 36-40, F
@DeluxedEdition It is a privilege that some can't afford.

Yes I have. It was a rewards points upgrade. I used to fly very frequently, so accumulating miles wasn’t that difficult in my previous life.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@CookieCrumbs that is always sweet when you have the miles built up. You can get a ungrade
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
I've never done it ever. I wouldn't do it either because it felt weird for me to spend that much.
However, life is short. It's now wrong to experience it while we can.

Yes I have - it’s great for a long haul flight of say 12 hours plus but not worth it for a short haul journey 🙂

London to Sydney Australia average 23 time 23 hours.

The flight was free. But I can't justify paying thousands of dollars to fly half way across country.

Flown First Class twice in my life. First time was on military standby when I was a buck private, and the First Class section was mostly made up of off-duty stewardesses -- they were still stewardesses back then -- en route to their next assignments. Champagne was flowing. Second time when Alitalia and their American partner airline screwed up our reservations flying back from Sicily, so they upgraded us to the only available seats, which were First Class. Definitely more comfortable but not sure it is worth the price difference.
Rose0415 · 36-40, F
@dancingtongue Oh wow. It must have been really great back then. Probably way better compared to today.
Yulianna · 26-30, F
yes, i usually do...
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
It really depends on where you are flying from.. Anything up to 3 hours I really wouldnt bother paying the difference. But the benefits really only kick in if you have to sleep on the flight. Of course some carriers have "Premium Economy" or "Business" which offer different levels.😷
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
Yes. All flights to and from Adelaide...always because they are classless.
I have been upgraded to BC a few times on Malaysian Airlines and once on Air New Zealand. I would prefer to spend any extra monies on accommodation rather than the relatively small time you spend flying.

First class is great for long flights, more comfortable seating, better food and drinks, less noise. But for flights that are only an hour or two, the cost isn't worth it to me.
Rose0415 · 36-40, F
@PrivateHell Yeah, good point.
Elessar · 26-30, M
Nah, sounds like money wasted to me, independently from the availability.
A flight is a matter of hours, I'd rather spend that money in a better stay once arrived.

The airlines I've been on where I've upgraded didn't have First Class sections. The business class seats and service were very nice though
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
Without a doubt the best flight ever. It’s one of those things I would say to experience once in your life at least.
Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
Yes, but my dad said it was a waste of money for short flights. We only did for long flights so we could feel more refreshed. 😊
bhatjc · 46-50, M
Hope you went for it. I few business class a few times. Long distance flights. Was glad to have the leg room, US to the UK.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I only fly southwest and book the cheapest flight. First class is out of my element.
