I don't know if you would call it a journal or not. I didn't write in it daily. But at the suggestion of someone on another long forgotten chatroom, I started writing to my granddaughter when she was born. Events and milestones in her life; things that happened bringing up memories of my life experiences. When her brother came along, I included him. A hodge podge of their childhood experiences they might not remember and my remembrances and life learnings from a long, and hopefully less dramatic, journey through life. I entitled it Reflections and it filled two of the oversized binders in print form when I gave it to them as they entered adolescence.

@Monday2 On the flip side, my mom kept a diary all her life. Those from the last few years before dementia set in were among the belongings I got. With great anticipation of some insights to her life, I sat down to thumb through them and page after page was a one sentence summary of the weather that day and a notation that "Nothing happened" or something like "visited neighbor".

I did for a while, but it seemed that every day was boringly the same, so I stopped.
yes. i love to write and decorate the pages
Yes. I have a few. The one I write in most is an account of my health from day to day. It’s helped me see things like when foods effect my mood or slow me down the next day. Or to see that I’m possibly doing too much and need to take a break.

I want to but I’m afraid people will read it one day

@SW-User just write things you want them to see. Mine is about family memories. When you start and think about what you are writing you will probably smile a lot. I understand you don't want others to read private stuff.

I kept journals during lockdown as a way of helping get rid of the stress

No way. My life experiences and secrets will go with me to my grave.

I use to, but I misplaced it. It took me over a year to find it. Now I need to start back again.
