Tell me about your latest dream, if you have one. 🌠

I wanna know, if that’s okay — I know it’s kinda personal… and maybe I’ll try to interpret what it means from my own perspective. 🐸💭

I was in the house I grew up in. The earth rumbled and shook as a mountain grew up from the neighbours behind the backyard. Red furred Baboons in martial arts trousers came down, broke into the house and raided the pantry. And scampered back up the mountain, even took the dog. I went up after them. Its a bit hazy here but next thing is I have the dog back and make it back to the house. The baboons are mad now, racing back down the mountain. I string my Bow and check my quiver about to defend the house when I notice my cousin standing in the kitchen watching me. She burst out laughing and says "What the F's going on?" I go inside to embrace her and that's when I wake up.

@Thevy29 It's like your dream is showing that your life (or your mind) might feel a bit chaotic and unpredictable right now. The house from your childhood represents safety and comfort, and the mountain rising with baboons represents sudden problems or challenges that mess with your sense of security.

Chasing the baboons and getting the dog back shows that you’re trying to protect what matters to you and deal with problems, even when things get wild.

Your cousin laughing at the end is like your brain reminding you that it’s okay, and to find humor or lightness in stressful situations.

I actually haven't dreamed much since I became chronically ill in 2010. When I do dream, I'm usually trying to solve a mystery of some sort. 🤔
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@thepeculiarpanda hmm. Maybe even though you don’t dream much, when you do, your brain is using the dream to process things it’s been dealing with in real life. Since you’ve had a lot going on with your chronic illness, your mind might be trying to figure out problems, make sense of situations, or “solve mysteries” through your dreams.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
@iamrainfrog Possibly! The condition I have attacked my brain when I was 22 and things have just been wonky since then. 😅 Bodies are so fascinating and weird at the same time!

Busy restaurant. Was waiting on my breakfast order, and had a business meeting with people from my work. Food never came, and then I woke up
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@BillyMack I’ll have a talk with the staff. This is unacceptable.
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@BillyMack That’s a funny dream 😆 your brain really said, “no food for you, just stress!” If I’d interpret that, maybe it means you’ve been working too much or waiting for something that never seems to come
BillyMack · 46-50, M
@iamrainfrog that’s actually pretty good. Thanks!

My dreams are very normal, just me doing regular daily stuff.

There was a time I couldn't tell if I am in a dream or in reality because both are exactly the same.

I dreamed I traveled back into the past and interacted with TV stars, knowing that in the future we were good friends.🤷‍♀
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@Journaling4MeAgain For me yours is kind of your brain’s way of playing with wishes and possibilities. Going back into the past shows you might be thinking about old memories or simpler times, and hanging out with TV stars you know will become friends shows you’re hoping for good connections and positive relationships. I feel like you’re hoping for something, aren’t you?
Journaling4MeAgain · 100+, F
@iamrainfrog Well, I am hoping for something. Before I had this dream, I was working on integrating my inner critic with my core personality. When I was 9 years old, I experienced a traumatic event that silenced a terribly critical inner voice. In fact, it was that critical inner voice that led to a near-death experience.

After that experience, that inner critic was silenced. At first, I thought this was a good thing. It was a great relief not to hear the negative inner dialogue continuously anymore. However, over the following decades, I developed self-punishing and self-defeating behaviors, and I couldn't understand why. I had no way to control these behaviors because I didn't know why I did these things.

A few months ago, I started to realize that although my inner critic had become silent, it had not gone away. I attribute the self-defeating and self-sabotaging behavior to this silent inner critic. It seems to still be working in the background. I just can't argue with it anymore. So, I started trying to integrate my inner critic and my core personality again, so I have some idea of why I do the things I do. On top of this, the day before the dream, I started taking SAMe, or S-adenosylmethionine.

So, I guess that I am hoping to connect my inner critic with my core personality again.🙂
🤔 I think you're supposed to offer a cup of tea just before asking for this.

@dirge Oh, I’m so sorry, you’re right! Maybe I’ll try to edit my post.

I had a couple last night
Emily2013 · 13-15, F
i am in a big house and there are a lot of people in it and some of them are strangers and there are a lot of rooms but there are people standing around just talking in all of the bathrooms and i want to go potty and take a shower but people are in al the bathrooms
iamrainfrog · 18-21, F
@Emily2013 It sounds stressful haha it might be reflecting feelings of lack of privacy or personal space in your waking life. Bathrooms in dreams i think often symbolize personal boundaries, or self-care — the fact that all of them are occupied could mean you feel like you don’t have room to take care of yourself, or that your personal needs are being ignored or crowded out.

The big house with lots of people might represent your life or mind being crowded with responsibilities, social pressures, or people’s expectations — maybe you feel like there’s always someone around, and you can’t have a moment to yourself.

In short, your dream could be your brain’s way of saying: “I need some personal space, time to relax, and privacy in my life.”

@iamrainfrog wow that makes sense. you are good at this! thanks
