What is the thing you give away so often that you wish someone would give you too?

How easy to give what you have in abundance.
But to give it with wisdom...ah...the challenge is real.

My time. I'm the person whose going around the neighborhood knocking on elderly neighbor's doors giving them my phone number should they need anything. Be it groceries or a ride, I'm the one who buys toys for all the neighborhood kids, my children are 19 and 22. But i'm buying Halloween candy, Christmas gifts, easter baskets etc....for everyone else's kids because i dont ever want any child or elderly person to ever feel left out. In return, i just pray that if i live to become elderly, that someone looks out for me!

Being caring and keeping in touch regularly. That's how I am. It would be nice to have that reciprocated. Im talking about family, not online friendships.

I dont give as much as i used to as I dont completely trust my own motivations.

I gave because i wanted, to the point of need, to have some of it returned but dont know if i earned the reciprocity.

If i cant answer to myself "is this action selfless?" Then i tone it way back or dont do it at all.

Listening and time
Out of a 45 min convo i got to talk about myself for 5 mins.
But this happens a lot.
I think im on earth just to listen to people tbh but never reciprocated

@Gangstress Try limiting their access to you. Been there, done that. It would just hurt and make you waste time on the wrong people.

There would still be consequences for toughening it out. In the end, it's up to you how you wanna live.

Self-love is a craft.

time. the most exhausting thing about adulting is how CONSTANT it is. there is ALWAYS something that needs to be addressed or sorted out. when i say I'm just "chilling" it really means I'm ignoring one of the million things on the to-do list
