Don't feel you have to fill the stereotypes that society, family, friends try to force us into. There is no mandate that says you must have children and be a mom. It sounds like you have been doing well in what you have tried, even if you don't feel you have found your niche yet. Nothing wrong in being an explorer, constantly re-inventing yourself. Lots of us yearn to have done that. If you feel you are missing something in the parental world, try taking in a foster kid or getting involved in some volunteer group supporting schools, kids, youth activities.
