Nope, not what I said. I said that America has a higher living standard than the Dominican Republic, which is why the Haitians accepted the offer they were given, rather than move to a country with a lower living standard, not to mention work was guaranteed to them in Springfield, whereas they might not have been able to find jobs in the DR.
You white guilt snowflakes, always trying to find racism where there is none. 🙄
@BohemianBabe True, they are always seeking improvements and efficiencies. But raising the minimum wage motivates them to introduce automation at a faster rate and the higher wages paid to employees raises the equilibrium to invest in new technology that would not be profitable if it was paying employees a lower wage.
@DallasCowboysFan There's no evidence of that. If that were true, then areas with higher minimum wages would be more likely to have automation. Instead, what we see is that corporations use automation the second they're able to, regardless of wage laws. Maybe outsourcing would have continued under Trump, but it wouldn't have increased so drastically.
@BohemianBabe Today's economy is not local, it's international. But the U.S. and the EU have some the highest wages and benefits in the world. They have to save money were they can because the major corporations are competing against China, and other developing nations that provide workers working at 1/10 - 1/4 of the money in the U.S. And the environmental restrictions are much higher here, whereas they may be nonexistent in other nations. If companies do not upgrade to stay competitive, they won't stay in business.
There are many Haitians in DR There’s also lot of poverty in DR. They’re few decades away from being an advanced nation (assuming their economy continues to expand)
@Bel6EQUJ5 And yet none of it's been proven, and the woman who claimed her cat was eaten by her neighbor later found the cat in her basement. This is what happens when you don't fact check this stuff. You end up looking like an even bigger racist.
