I remember getting fat shamed when I went to the gym. They had these fancy aerobic machines I had no idea how to use. Some muscle heads teased me pretty bad for that. They were standing in front of a bar bell on the ground with only 50 kilos on it. Which makes me wonder how they got their muscles. They weren't laughing when I dead lifted it like it was nothing.. When you Unload Tuna boats you don't need to lift weights at the gym.

Fat shaming is totally wrong. However, what I think is happening in this circumstance is
Nobody discourages the overweight from pursuing a healthy lifestyle. But what is being seen is celebrating fatness AS a lifestyle which is wrong.
People then say, " what about those ultra skinny models? That's wrong too."
Absolutely it is, the industry I think should wake up and have more control over standards. Celebrating weight extremes is a great way to ensure your country's life expectancy goes down.
But again to emphasise, it is never ok to shame someone just on surface facts.

@Longpatrol Yeah I agree with you,
but for a long time people who were chubby were picked on when doing exercise or sports (especially in school)
Its frustrating when people say that this is a good thing to encourage people not to be fat, (yes I've heard people actually say this) when in many cases it makes them feel humiliated to be seen exercising or sweating, or they even associate exercise with negative experiences... which makes it even harder to exercise or maintain weight once lost
and the desperation to lose weight and lose it fast can result in starving themselves for an extended period followed by binge eating, and a vicious cycle is started which makes the situation a lot worse
It kinda sucks 😔

@ExtremeNext Yep. I lift, hike, walk my dogs, etc. regularly, all the while avoiding disliking blocks of people I don't know for no apparent reason.

Just like how people get fat shamed in general while being in the gym. Like they are trying to do something about it and they need a supportive environment

No one should fear to leave the house because people might follow them.
