I enjoy some shows as something to watch without having to use my brain

The lowest form of entertainment humans have come up with...

It seems far from reality most of the time.

Now, there WAS a show called Live PD.
It was getting stellar ratings for the network.
It was interesting to see policemen doing police work LIVE across the country.
Then cancel culture decided to cancel police departments, the network chickened out can canceled the show./
Although, I've heard that similar programs are doing well outside the US.

I often find myself thinking, "Is this reality? How embarrassing!".

Annoying

Most shows seem to reflect reality in the beginning and later they seem scripted, even the better ones. I do enjoy watching those in different types of settings or locations from where I live, can learn a bit from them.

I simply pretend it never existed. (For the most part)
But with two exceptions... Unsolved Mysteries, hosted by Robert Stack, Rescue 911, hosted by William Shatner.
When it came to reality based television programs, those were my go-to favorites, back in the 1990's.
Anything that came after that, just flat out SUCKS! and is therefore not worth watching or acknowledging the existence of.

As long as no-one actually thinks that real life is edited, always has a 'story' that can end in 42 minutes, has a musical soundtrack cut to the action, takes commercial breaks and only involves the kind of extrovert people who want on appear on TV, they're as good a way to waste time as golf or football.

I don't get the appeal.
I'm not sure there is any.
But, they stopped paying writers years ago for sitcoms,
and meaningless crap is now considered entertainment.

Rubbish there all scripted and done for tv viewing and ratings.

I was intrigued by the idea of it when I first heard about it (I think before the American version of Survivor launched). However, it quickly became apparent that it was all just manufactured nonsense.

I've never seen it. Seems pretty stupid. But when you get The John Olinger Show I'll even buy a TV!
Degbeme · 70-79, M
It sucks.

It allows a business failure to pose as a business tycoon and then become president.
