I have multiple personalities and I wouldn't consider it carfishing, because the people are being honest about who they are. My alters aren't pretending to be someone else to trick people, they are someone else.

True.

🤔
No, I don't think it is. The person isn't lying about who they are, they just don't know who they are.

That's what I think. But then again Aido, that's what "I" think and I am sometimes wrong 🙃

SW-User
@Maggimay: Hahah. You're funny. :) But we're all discussing in a friendly manner where it is okay to be wrong. :P

Oh phew..pressure lifted 😉
Not necessarily because multiple personatility disorder is a mental disorder that the person cannot help. I don't think they would be aware of which personatility they are when that specific personatility takes over.so they could have different profiles and not even be aware that they do. Atleast from my understanding of the disorder and the little I know about it.
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: omg. Dude you should really look into it. It's so interesting. I'm majoring in developmental psychology but I also then clinical psychology is really cool too. It's just interesting learning about the human mind and why people are the way they are and why they do the things they do. It's fascinating

@Poptartinvasion: I have looked into it. It requires more time and dedication to study it than I am prepared to give. So I just satisfy myself with my curiosities on here, lol.
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: i understand.

Depends. No. Yes! Maybe...

SW-User
Which one of you should I believe?😜
SWisGoingWoke · M
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: Him, me, not them!

SW-User
I think only if those multiple profiles fool a person into believing that they are all different people.
I think catfishing is more active than just creating multiple fake profiles. It depends on the intent and whether or not a person is fooled into believing that a person is someone they're not.

Good point! But could these personalities be unaware of each other?

SW-User
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: oh I didn't read your question properly 😂
Well I can't say if that is possible, I don't know much about multiple personality disorders.
Still not catfishing though, again the intent was never to fool anyone... the awareness isn't even there.

Hahaha.. Maybe. If they are aware

Wonder if they end up catfishing themselves? 🤔

SW-User
That would be a mind fuck! 🤔
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: 🤔
Peaceful · F
I'd say yes and there is one on here that has mastered it.

SW-User
@Peaceful: Oh. Hmm. That is possible.
Peaceful · F
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: because you are wise :)

SW-User
@Peaceful: Haha you're too kind. :)

It's only weird if they talk to themselves a lot 😏

No idea. I hate that fucking term.
@NigelDoes: ah. I understand now. I find certain words cringy or annoying.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Sometimes people here complaining about others being oversensitive are the most sensitive.😉
@NigelDoes: I'm very sensitive I'm not going to deny that. 😛 who complained about people being sensitive again? 😅😬
