I'm not trying to be aggressive at all. I just find that particular term incredibly odious and overused. Sorry if you were offended by my response. That definitely wasn't my intention.

Not at all. I just find it highly annoying in the same way I find the term "cougar" annoying. I realize there's no rhyme or reason to be annoyed by certain new words that have entered the vernacular. :-)
