Isn't it unethical to take your bothers side even though you know he's wrong?

Example...
Bf and gf have physical fight. The guy is known for being violent towards women. So, the guys sister comes to their house and sees that her brothers gf eye is swollen black. Her immediate response was to tell her "you know he is just going through a lot, so you can't blame him for that."
I would have kicked his ass if he was my brother!! Need to give him a reality check! And he needs help.

Ah no... There's loyalty, but it has to be earned... This guy is a car, a bounder.... Run, don't walk, to the nearest exit!

@KiwiBird I'll just go and talk to the polo ponies ...

That’s BS. If it were my brother and I caught wind that he’d punched his wife, I’d invite him to a backyard “summit”.

@SW-User hats off to you!

She may not have picked the best words in the heat of the moment but there's nothing inherently wrong with wanting to defend your brother in public providing you give him a right telling off in private as well just so he knows exactly where you stand. And of course we've no way of knowing whether she did that or not do we. It's tricky.
That's messed up. If a guy ever hits her this won't be her attitude towards it.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether It might be. Both might’ve seen it in their home, as children.

That kind of stuff makes me sick. Gf needs to leave yesterday!
It’s entirely possible that both were raised in an atmosphere where violence against women was considered acceptable. That would explain why neither have a problem with it, unfortunately.
